Pregnancy
Midwives have a key role in public health, with a great impact on the health of families and society, and we must work with awareness of this.

Monitoring your pregnancy
In pregnancy, it is imperative to promote women's autonomy (Ministry of the Presidency, 2015) to protect and care for the wellbeing of mother and baby, maximising their safety, while increasing trust in the mother's physiology and instinctive behaviour to minimise unnecessary interventions.
Work with women during childbearing should always take into account the physical, emotional, spiritual and social aspects of childbirth, as the care provided by the midwife can determine the long-term physical consequences and emotional integrity of women and their families (Morton et al, 2019; Page, 2008).
Their experiences are influenced by the environment (Walsh, 2010) and the care provided by birth professionals (Morton et al, 2019; Sosa et al, 2018; Lyberg and Severinsson 2010; Nilsson et al, 2010; Eriksson et al, 2006; Fisher et al, 2006; Melender, 2006).
The varied, contrasted and updated information (Larsson, Larsson et al, 2019; Sandall et al2016; Davison et al2015; Miller and Skinner, 2012; McCourt, 2006) advocacy for women and their desires (Ministry of the Presidency, 2015; Royal College of Midwives (RCM), 2008) and the continuum of care (Sosa et al, 2018; Perriman et al2018; National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), 2014) should always be present to build a relationship of mutual trust, minimising stress levels for both the mother and the baby (Larsson et al, 2019; Perriman et al, 2018; Foureur, 2008; Kightley, 2007).

Objectives and Methodology
As a midwife I consider myself a guardian of a woman's privacy and dignity. I aim to provide meticulous physical and verbal dialogue, understanding the sexuality inherent in each stage of motherhood, which in each woman will depend on her own physiology, anatomy, lived experiences (Buckley, 2009), expectations and cultural reality (Maggioni et al, 2006).
