Testimonials
These are some of the testimonies and experiences I have had throughout my professional career.
"The experience with Imma has been excellent. I don't know if my words will be able to convey the affection, professionalism and close care she provides. For me, she goes beyond all her training and extensive experience; it is a close, person-centred approach with incredible sensitivity.
The amount of documented and fact-based information she provides at the different visits is amazing. I have learned a lot of things I didn't know or hadn't thought about, and this is my third pregnancy! This information helps you make decisions and know how to act in different situations.
I would also like to thank you for the emotional support and reassurance you provide. My pregnancy was wonderful, but in the last four days I felt the pressure of induction. Talking to her helped me to listen to myself again, to know what I wanted and what options I had before going to chemical induction.
Imma is wonderful in childbirth. She is active and direct as well as sweet and sensitive. As an anecdote: She does everything without you knowing! I was having contractions and before I knew it, they had already prepared the bed in a few minutes (it was a quick delivery) and she invited me to move.
And finally, postpartum. I have felt more cared for than in either of my other two postpartums, and the same for my daughter. Imma has watched her and talked to her with wonderful affection. She followed up with us in person and, when she didn't come, she would send a message to let us know if everything was going well.
As an added bonus, not only has she helped me, but she also assisted my sister for a moxibustion/acupuncture session, and she was there to help, inform and soothe.
It's a pity I didn't meet Imma during my two previous pregnancies. If I were to have another child, I would not hesitate for a minute to call her again, I recommend her 100%! She is a great professional and person."

"For us the experience with Imma has been excellent. It has exceeded our expectations. We were looking forward to giving birth at home, but we weren't sure about it either. During the pregnancy visits, Imma's support and knowledge were the key to trusting in the health of the pregnancy process and rejecting unnecessary interventions and tests by the gynaecology and obstetrics service of the CHV.
We felt safe and very well accompanied at all times during the birth, their experience and knowledge guaranteed us safety, attention, thoroughness and an individualised and personalised accompaniment in which we did not miss any ingredient.
Postpartum visits are key for a rigorous physical and emotional follow-up and, as new parents, being able to have the availability to ask any questions and help with breastfeeding, have made us feel safe, accompanied, supported and very happy during this stage.
Imma, we are immensely grateful for the experience we have shared. Thank you for everything, you are a wonderful person".

"Giving birth with Imma was like eating a juicy organic tomato planted by your neighbour or like the first strawberries that arrive in April/May from el Maresme, without pesticides, without intermediaries, without labour exploitation, at a fair price for all, with a relationship between farmer and consumer where we all take care of the climatic, ecological and social conditions. It would be like going back to what our grandparents did with the knowledge and the current situation, it's not because of nostalgia I mean, it's rather to take into account what was done before and being able to separate the grain from the hey when looking at the possibilities we have in this unleashed capitalism.
You may want to give birth at home for several reasons, and there is one that I think must be common; looking with critical eyes at everything that is offered in society, more specifically, what is offered to us citizens in terms of health, education, labour, social... due to the fact of living in a state organized under the umbrella of capitalism. Capitalism will always prioritize capital and favour the economic interests before the person, therefore, not taking for granted that what is done or what is meant to is interesting for the person would be a starting point. And another reason would be to understand that the society we live in is patriarchal, therefore, many practices will also be patriarchal. Hospitals are usually visited by those who are sick and to think that women in general must give birth there is to consider pregnancy as a disease, and this is not the case. If we need to or if we want to, we should be able to give birth in a hospital, but not as a rule.
Then you have to separate the grain from the hey, the great challenge of our days.
Ask ourselves questions and find the answers. What does being pregnant entail?
What is it like to give birth? How do you take care of a baby? What things are most
significant in the pregnancy, birth and the postpartum processes? What are the
best conditions to encourage everything to go well? Etc... and this wanting to knowbrought my partner and me to research, read, and to give birth to my two
daughters at home, in the room where they could have been conceived. The
second one with Imma, and we can only say thank you, thank you and thank you.
Pregnant people do not know when or how we will give birth, we owe a little to the
universe, but what I have learned is that what we can do is to provide ourselves
with the best possible conditions for it to flow and for me, Imma it's a 10 as just
thinking of the words that come out to me are short but I'll try.
The pregnancy sessions have helped us to have information, to know how to act or
at least to have notions of how to act in case of problems, to feel safe, to take
responsibility for the processes of pregnancy, birth and postpartum, to know the
importance of listening ourselves without falling into mysticism, take for granted
that a physiological birth will be fine and otherwise we will know what to do... Imma
is very professional and even manages to put on socks after giving birth so you
don't get cold while giving birth the placenta and checks your vulva, because she
knows that's when the body temperature drops etc... I mean that no intervention is
in vain, there is a reason that she cares for, accompanies and facilitates.
When I was in the birthing stool and saw that the birth was imminent, she told me that I should better change to the bed to protect my pelvic floor, minimizing the risks of tearing. And so, everything. It is noticeable that she has accompanied countless births and that her knowledge of physiology and the risks, plus her experience, plus her clarity and care in the accompaniment means that if I had another child, I would not hesitate to be accompanied by Imma. She says that we do it alone but I'm sure that without her support everything would not have been so smooth. I would say more, she does a lot so that we can do it, so that we can be active and be whole, calm and aware of the immense overwhelming force that is generated when giving birth. Thanks Imma!”

"Imma accompanied us for the home birth of our first child. The experience has been formidable, both professionally and personally. We felt very well taken care of and respected throughout the process. Imma provides a lot of information during pregnancy that allows you to make decisions independently and with knowledge of all the options. During the postpartum period we felt very well accompanied, even when we had already been discharged, she continued to help us with some problems that arose. We couldn't be more grateful and clearly, if we have another pregnancy, we would want her with us.”

"We contacted Imma with the intention of labouring at home but giving birth in hospital. Everything related to pregnancy and motherhood was new to us, and we had a lot of doubts and fears. In fact, until we talked to her, we hadn't even considered giving birth at home. A few months later (now with Max in our arms) we can say that we couldn't have made a better decision. The birth was an extremely intense but also beautiful and empowering experience for both of us. Imma made us feel so secure and confident that we were able to give ourselves fully to a moment that required all our strength and energy. The memory that remains of that special day is placid and tender, magical, and that is priceless. It is something we will always be grateful for.

"Imma has been our midwife for our first baby and actually now on reflection, she has been much more:
From the first consultation with her we felt very welcome, understood and protected.
In times of uncertainty she calmed us down and with her long experience and knowledge she guided us like a guardian angel through the journey of pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period.
She was our guardian when we were transferred to the hospital, making sure we were received quickly and well. She has been our best help and comfort when I was suffering for not being able to start breastfeeding on my own and the hospital did not care that my son had not been breastfeeding since he was born almost 8 hours earlier. Imma came to the hospital to help me breastfeed my son for the first time.
That she was close by at this time made me feel safe. Safe in a place, where not much consideration is given to how we feel after a birth that was complicated in the end.
Imma, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the energy you put into accompanying us at every moment, your dedication and the passion you put in every day for all the mums who need you.
I never felt alone.
Every piece of advice you gave me, every question you answered and all your daily visits and messages about how I was doing during the first days postpartum, have contributed to me being able to live this experience not only on a physical level, but also on an emotional and very intimate level.
The memories will stay with me forever.
Being pregnant, giving birth and adapting to a new life with a baby is something very magical and thanks to you I was able to live it that way. Thank you for giving me a hand on my way to becoming a mother".

"It has been a pleasure to be able to count on you, Imma. From the very beginning, when we had only spoken on the phone, we knew that you would be our midwife. The affection, the professionalism, the connection have made the whole process a really pleasant way to go.
Facing the birth with the peace of mind of knowing in advance that it would be you who would guide us and who would be present in case of any emergency that might arise, has made us face it with greater confidence than the other times. The post-partum period has been a pleasure to live at home, receiving your visits and letting your advice guide us through any doubts or indecision. Thank you for so much and for everything.
We will always carry you in our hearts.

I remember as if it were now the first visit, the informative visit. You opened your house to me, and at the door a first hug that touched me. In the distance, the sea. We talked for more than an hour, without too many filters, as if we had known each other all our lives. And when I left your house I didn't need to talk to anyone, or check information, it was clear to me that we had found you. Like when you know something, that only you feel it and know it.
"...And lying on my side, my baby began to be born. Her expert hands were like a balm for my perineum, her breathing indications guided me, and the expected ring of fire, which didn't even hurt as I remembered... My baby's head was already out, I touched him, I stroked him, I was just waiting for a last contraction, the one that would take you to my arms, but Imma's voice, with a slightly higher tone, told me, Eli get on all fours , now. I didn't understand, I didn't know, I was just waiting for the contraction, but I didn't ask for anything, I just trusted her, I didn't know how to turn around, she and Andrea helped me. My wild cries broke the silence, her hand where my baby had lived for 40 weeks and 6 days, her decisions and manoeuvres were key to resolve my son's shoulder dystocia. And so, accompanied by the hands of a wise woman, he began life outside my skin. I was so happy, I am so happy. I am so happy.
Thank you very much Imma, we can never thank you enough.

"The birth of Ibai at home accompanied by Imma has been a very beautiful experience for us. We had experienced a hospital birth with a lot of obstetric violence and we knew that we needed another option. Since we started the visits with Imma during the pregnancy, we received information that allowed us to make decisions, that empowered us and that made me feel totally capable of having my baby at home in conditions of safety, trust and intimacy. On the day of the birth we set up the birthing pool and it helped me a lot to bear the pain of the contractions, as well as the pressure that Imma put on my lower back. When the contractions started to become more frequent and more painful, I felt that the time to meet our baby was approaching and my body asked me to get out of the pool. Imma suggested different positions, which we tried and tested, until I finally found one that felt better, and in a few minutes Ibai came out in a very fast expulsion. We had time and privacy for the 3 of us (mother, father and Ibai), while we waited for the placenta to come out. Afterwards Imma prepared me a placenta milkshake and we also made two impressions on paper. During the whole postpartum period I felt totally accompanied by Imma, both in person and on the phone, as well as by whatsapp. It has undoubtedly been one of the best experiences of my life and if I had another one, I would have it with Imma at home without a doubt".

"Imma has accompanied us in an excellent way, from the first day we felt that she was a very competent and dedicated professional. We were able to decide what kind of birth we wanted and wanted, feeling reassured that we had all the information we needed to make decisions, but at the same time that the safety of our child and the mother was always a priority. We had a conscious and respected birth, a wonderful experience. And the support in the postpartum days was the best gift we have had, we felt very cared for.
The management of the older sister was also important to us. Once again, we heard that we were listened to and accompanied until we found our way as a family.
Imma has been attentive and very close. We are infinitely grateful".
"From the first day we met we felt like you were from home. At the time we met we were not yet ready to decide and we needed some time, but we knew for sure that if we decided, the home birth would be with you. And we weren't wrong, we are satisfied, happy and euphoric about how everything went, the accompaniment of the pregnancy, the birth and the postpartum. The work you do is impeccable, of brilliant professionalism. Therefore, we can only thank you for this journey we have made together".

"The home birth with Imma's accompaniment has been a unique experience that has made me trust in the nature of my body and my strength and capacity. Just the thought of going through a hospital birth again caused my partner and me anxiety because of what we experienced during the first birth. To have had such close accompaniment with Imma during the pregnancy, in which she informed us of everything with the scientific evidence always in front of us, so that we could make the decisions that were best suited to us, has been of great value. The support during the birth has been exceptional, both for her knowledge of the process and for her emotional support. And during the postpartum period it has also been perfect to have the availability of a professional with home visits and advice on the first care of the baby and the establishment of breastfeeding".

"Home birth has been the letter from the wise men. When we had our first little one, we let ourselves be carried away by the inertia of society and trusted in the goodwill of people (both health professionals and others who have thought about "protocol"), which is why we ended up in a hospital in Barcelona. A hospital that, after a little research, seemed to us to be the most respectful in the city. The reality was far from what we could have imagined, many different people and many unidentified, unannounced medication and manoeuvres, little empathy and communication. In short, a protocol that looks more like a slaughterhouse, and a flagrant abuse of power. Home birth has been the opposite, a love letter to the wise nature, which is above all of us at that moment and which, thanks to a qualified professional, has been able to accompany the moment to achieve a happy ending. Constant and close accompaniment, information based on scientific evidence, professionalism and exhaustive knowledge of the subject and freedom to choose our decisions, have been characteristics of this second pregnancy that have been essential for us. Undoubtedly, what should be standard and not a choice, which for many is a luxury".
Xavier Escuder Vilchez
Father of Arlet and Nil, born 02/02/2022
"Imma is a professional from head to toe, who lives her work with love and dedication. She is always up to date and in constant training, offering the necessary information so that the father and mother can decide which options they feel most comfortable and confident with when drawing up the birth plan.
Her accompaniment throughout the pregnancy is decisive: a strong bond soon emerges and even if one of the visits discusses obstetric emergencies, you feel safe by her side and with her ability to make decisions and intervene. You know that things can go wrong, because life and death are uncontrollable, but you know that she will always be there, whatever happens.
At the moment of birth, her presence is respectful, silent and willing. She exudes strength and security and transmits this calmness to both mother and father. She always asks for the mother's verbal consent before carrying out any intervention and conveys this respect to the baby, whom she speaks to and touches with infinite love".

Sometimes intuition doesn't fail, and without anyone recommending Imma to me, knowing her only from facebook (in the Dona llum group), I recommended her to a friend in the neighbourhood for her second child, thinking that if one day I had my second child, I would contact her. My first daughter had already been born at home with a team of midwives who no longer work together.
And so it was. Intuition did not fail. I could not have been better accompanied during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. It is true that with my first child I only focused on the birth, but the birth is one, two, maximum three days, and without taking away all the importance of a good accompaniment on the day of the birth, it is also essential all the accompaniment during pregnancy and especially during the postpartum period (for me, the most difficult part of maternity). And Imma offers more than this accompaniment, taking care of the physical and emotional health of the mother, the baby, the father and the siblings. I can even say that in complicated situations she responds like the great professional that she is. I have felt total confidence to tell her anything I wanted to. With her, throughout the whole process, I have felt very informed and not judged in my decisions. She acts with all the scientific basis available, which gave me a lot of security and made me feel very cared for. Active, sweet, direct, infinitely available, sensitive, a perfectionist, who leaves everything tied up, coherent. I have been able to see how she believes in what she does, how what she says and does is in line with what she thinks, how seriously she takes her work. A great professional and a great person.
In short, I will always carry you in my heart, Imma. It is a privilege and an honour that you have accompanied us during this time. I would repeat the experience with you, as I told you. I can't finish writing these words without getting emotional, feeling the tears flowing like the milk flowing from my breasts".

"We decided in week 34 to have a home birth and we thought it might not be possible because we were too late. But Imma gave us all the information, confidence and empowerment we needed so that after talking to her, we felt prepared and happy with the option of having our baby at home. From that first interaction we perceived that Imma, not only knows a lot (she always provides answers based on scientific research), has a lot of experience and loves what she does, but she also has the ability to connect very quickly with people. Imma is very dedicated to each family. We don't know how she does it, but she is always available and responds very quickly and assertively. When we decided to have Maya with her, we didn't know the importance of pre- and post-natal support. For us, that support was fundamental. As first-time parents there are many things we don't know and Imma guided us with great affection through each one of them: from emotions that we didn't know how to handle to practical issues such as breastfeeding. Imma's role in the birth was also fundamental: she gave us security, autonomy, respect and a lot of love. Our daughter was born perfectly at home, just as planned. We are very grateful to Imma and the process. We would do everything again in exactly the same way".

"We felt safe working with Imma, as during the pregnancy visits I confirmed that she is a very experienced professional. I liked knowing that in case of an unforeseen event there was always an emergency plan thought out in advance and that she gave us enough information about the issues we were discussing during the pre-birth visits to be able to make more informed decisions about what we wanted for the day of the birth. During these visits we learned about the different emergencies that could occur before and during the birth that we would not otherwise have known about.
I found the care to be very complete, as in addition to the baby check-ups, she also took into account and was concerned about our emotional state; she provided us with all the elements and alternatives for our optimal health during pregnancy and on the day of delivery; and she always answered our questions whether in person or by telephone.
On the day of the birth, her expertise and support at all times was invaluable. Without a doubt an experience we will never forget".

"It has been a pleasure to have Imma as a midwife and companion during the entire prepartum, birth and postpartum period. "Simon is our second child born at home. Imma has been with us for both births. And if I had to give birth more times I would always do it with her. The best thing about giving birth with her is the confidence she gives you, she makes you feel powerful and capable. She gives you all the information you need to give birth informed, knowing what options you have, what obstetric emergencies you may have, how childbirth works, etc ... And she is also a woman who makes you feel like family when you are with her, she is like a second mother. But above all, she is a professional "like the top of a pine tree". Midwives are the most qualified women to accompany a labour and birth.
Thank you Imma for always being present and available when you are needed. Everyone should have an Imma in their life. "
Elisabet Sort Rodés

"To be able to welcome the birth of our second daughter at home was my greatest wish as a mother. Thanks to Imma's support, this dream has become a wonderful reality, a treasure that we will treasure for the rest of our lives.
From the very first moment we felt listened to, very well informed and cared for, and we immediately had all the confidence in her and all the assurance that this was the best option for us. With her we have learned that giving birth at home is not only safe, but that it is scientifically proven, and above all, that it is an experience full of love and respect.
And in this decision, Imma has been the best midwife we could have: attentive, dedicated, very professional and at the same time very close. The only thing that hurts us is not having enjoyed her accompaniment from the beginning of the pregnancy, because we didn't contact her until the 34th week!
In short, words cannot express and capture everything we feel, but having our daughter at home has been the best decision we could have made, and being accompanied by Imma has been a luck, an honour and a pleasure. "

"Thanks to Imma I have been able to enjoy the birth of my daughter at home. Her professionalism and the confidence she exudes in everything she tells you and when it comes to preparing and intervening in the birth is outstanding. Throughout the whole process I felt I was in the best hands, she is an up to date professional and you can tell she enjoys her work.
She provides all the information very clearly and I have felt very well accompanied throughout the pre-partum, birth and postpartum process. She always knew how to interpret what I needed at each moment and knew how to support me when I needed it most.
I only have words of thanks to her for the attention received, she has helped me to live one of the best experiences of my life, thank you very much Imma! "
Marta Giralt Rubireta

"Imma is very experienced and has a deep knowledge of all aspects of pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. She keeps up to date with studies and publications on the subject. She has an enormous capacity for adaptation and flexibility, always prioritising the baby, the mother and the family's decisions.
Despite feeling confident in my ability to give birth at home and in a natural way, during the birth I lost "strength" at some point and Imma's wise words gave me encouragement to continue. It was an incredible experience: intimate, relaxed, I felt supported and empowered at all times. I couldn't have done it without Imma, really.
But almost what I am most grateful for is the postpartum period, Imma was there for us and very present. Her love, attention, advice and adaptability prevented postpartum depression, as breastfeeding was hard at first. But she helped me to recover physically, mentally and emotionally very quickly.
During pregnancy, women receive a lot of medical and social care, but in the postpartum period we are "left on our own", assuming that it is an easy journey for mothers. The personalised accompaniment and dedication that Imma gave us in the first month of life made a difference in how I now handle breastfeeding and motherhood. This support should be something that all mothers should receive. We have been lucky enough to receive it and I can't recommend it more highly.
Wisdom, decisive and affectionate. I 100% encourage mothers who are thinking about a home birth to choose Imma to accompany them. I wish we had met her when I was pregnant for the first time"!

"Imma has been the best support we could have had. We have been able to enjoy all the information we needed to face the birth with the utmost confidence. The proximity and the attention received at all times have allowed us to live this process with peace of mind, security and love. We would like to emphasise the importance of all the help during the postpartum period, a delicate time in which, once again, your constant attention and sensitivity have helped our daughter to grow up healthy and strong. Imma, you can never be thanked enough for your work, thank you for everything! "

"Imma accompanied us for the birth of our second baby. It was a wonderful experience and we are very happy that we made the decision to work with her and give birth at home. For me, Imma has the perfect balance between being caring, strong and professional. She helped me feel prepared, gave us all the information we needed before and after the birth. She was always available to answer our questions. During the birth she helped me feel confident and strong, I felt very safe and cared for throughout the whole process. I would definitely recommend working with Imma if you are considering a home birth."

"The accompaniment of a midwife and, specifically Imma, during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum is a luxury that every woman about to become a mother, and every man about to become a father should be able/want to afford and enjoy at all times: access to all the latest information, non-invasive resources, respect, closeness, affection, almost monthly home visits during pregnancy and every two or three days during the postpartum period... guidance, respect and decisiveness during childbirth, the closest accompaniment during the beginning of breastfeeding and a new stage as a family... the chances that with these conditions things would go well in one of the most important moments of my life and my health were immense and so it was. But above all, the tranquillity and confidence with which I lived the whole process was very important. I will always be immensely grateful that Imma and her professionalism exist, are and will be deeply important for many people. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. "

"Imma is very knowledgeable and taught me a lot, even though this is my fourth pregnancy. She is very empathetic and understanding, and knows when to talk and when to be quiet. Her respectful approach made the experience of pregnancy and birth much more than special and very intimate. I have had several births, but by far, this one with Imma was the best and the most special.

"Although the decision was difficult to make as it was our first birth and we didn't know many people close to us with the experience of giving birth at home, it was the right decision. Imma offered us what we needed at all times: during the last weeks of pregnancy, calm, rigorous information for the moments of waiting and doubts; during the birth, total dedication, temperance, encouragement, sweet words, respect for how I was experiencing it and options to choose from at all times when I asked for them; during the first weeks with Mia at home, a lot of trust, close contact and availability via telephone. She has been a beacon in the face of uncertainty and constant changes.
Having a midwife has meant making an investment in feeling cared for, informed and empowered for the arrival of our daughter. We have been amazed by Imma's dedication and we can do nothing but be grateful that there are professionals like her to accompany such important moments in life. "

"We decided almost at 36 weeks that we finally wanted to give birth at home, but if I were to go back, I would do it from week 1. The role of Imma Sàrries has been fundamental for us to be able to assess that our decision was one of the best of our lives. Mia was born at 41 weeks and two days on a day as special as the night of San Juan, between firecrackers and screams was the thing. It was a long labour (32 hours of continuous contractions) and almost three hours of birth. Mia had a little trouble getting down (she looked like a yo-yo), but even so Imma was optimistic and very professional at all times, contributing ideas to make the exit easier. Finally, from the least expected position, Miriam pushed with all the strength in the world that only an empowered woman is capable of, and Mia was born in a more than perfect state, and much more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. There were hard moments, moments of tension and a lot of fatigue, but it was still worth it to bring our daughter into the world in the most harmonious and natural way possible. I would definitely repeat.
Thank you very much Imma for helping us to bring Mia into the world, it has been a great pleasure to have you and your great experience. Your treatment and professionalism could not have been better. I will always remember you and who knows if in the future we will meet again at a birth, or just in the neighbourhood. A big hug. I encourage everyone who has decided to give birth at home to trust Imma as a midwife".
Pau Fabregat Hernando

"Giving birth at home with Imma Sàrries is one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. And although she would say no, I know that I have been able to give birth as I did thanks to her, with Roger's birth being a great gift and a wonderful experience. Her accompaniment during pregnancy, birth and postpartum has been a real personal growth that has empowered me as a woman and mother, offering me the information, security, wisdom and strength necessary to live this brutal journey with great enthusiasm and joy. One of the moments I remember most about the birth was when she arrived home, it was as if an angel had come in, dressed in white, whispering to me and speaking to me with a love and respect like no health professional had ever spoken to me before. I felt so well accompanied throughout... telling me what I needed to hear at every moment, giving me the calm, strength and confidence I needed, with incredible humanity and professionalism. Absolute attention and dedication from the first day until the day we were discharged. In conclusion, giving birth with Imma is a guarantee of the utmost professionalism, dedication, humanity and safety. And for all of this I am deeply grateful with all my heart, for us meeting her has been one of the best things that has ever happened to us. THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!!"

"Vast knowledge, long experience, wisdom, love, respect, accompaniment and commitment could be the words that define Imma and her work. Finding Imma was like having the hospital at home. Her work was impeccable at all times and we always had the absolute conviction that we were in the best hands. In addition, with her profound wisdom and human quality we felt accompanied and supported at the same time that we felt responsible and autonomous in our decisions. During the pregnancy we had the best information, during the birth Imma knew how to read Maria's physical and emotional needs, guiding her so that she could do it on her own and I, as a couple, felt totally integrated, being a co-protagonist in bringing our first child into the world. And in the postpartum period we were able to enjoy the privilege of having a personalised and constant accompaniment of all our doubts until the end. I am deeply grateful to Imma for the support and for all the things I learnt beyond the birth of Roger".

"After my first natural birth in hospital, where I realised that in a medical environment natural childbirth is not the norm but the exception, it was clear to me that the next time I wanted to give birth at home. It seemed to me the best way to ensure that the process would not be intervened and everything would flow smoothly. I didn't want to feel again that if everything had gone well it was by luck or chance. And I wasn't wrong. It was an unforgettable, fantastic and totally empowering experience. It was a privilege to be able to welcome little Arnau accompanied by my husband and my eldest daughter, in the warmth and comfort of home, and with the invaluable support and wisdom of Imma. Imma made us feel safe and in good hands at all times, reassured me, gave me a lot of confidence and I felt cared for, and my eldest daughter (6 years old) says that when she becomes a mother she also wants to give birth with her! I feel very lucky to have been able to live this magical experience so well accompanied and supported by those who love me. Imma, if this has been like this it is undoubtedly thanks to you !!!! "

"The first time we met Imma, it was a love affair, it was in 2012 for the birth of our first son Kai. There was no doubt, she had to be our midwife. And when we met again in 2020 for the birth of Inar, we felt the same way again, she had to be the one to accompany us. We were looking for professionalism, clarity, transparency, trust and respect. And we found all this in her accompaniment. What I would highlight most during the birth, which was of vital importance to me, is her absolute presence, her ability to stay out of the way and give us the leading role, to not interfere, to respect and fully trust the natural process. I think that is the most difficult thing: to be present without questioning or interfering. At no time have I felt questioned or manipulated, but guided and accompanied.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Imma. We will always be grateful to you".

"When I met Imma, I knew straight away that she had to be the person to accompany me during the birth. And later it was confirmed that I couldn't have had a better midwife, because of her experience, her professionalism, the rigour with which she works, the support she gave me at all levels before, during and after the birth. Imma prepared me very well for the birth during the visits we had before, so I arrived at the birth very calm and excited. During the birth I felt cared for, accompanied and respected to the maximum. Thanks to this I had an unforgettable and empowering experience. I did not suffer any tearing, thanks to the advice she gave me, nor were there any complications, not even in the expulsion of the placenta because she injected me with oxytocin, which we had already prepared just in case. At no time did I feel fear or doubts, Imma had everything under control. Her accompaniment during the postpartum period was fundamental. She was attentive and available at all times and did not discharge me until she was sure that both me and my little one were in perfect health. If I had another child I would not hesitate to count on her again".

"We could not have chosen a better midwife for the birth of our daughter. She prepared us both very well for the birth, involving me as well. And during the birth and postpartum, she was always available and attentive to the wellbeing of my wife and the baby, in a very respectful way. She gave us a lot of peace of mind and confidence.

"From the first moment we knew she was pregnant we did not hesitate to contact Imma who has accompanied us throughout the process, it has been a real privilege to have her knowledge, her presence and her love during these months. Having Imma close to us has given us all the information we needed, she has given us strength and confidence, especially when the birth was approaching and we were living a situation that we would never have imagined; Uriel would arrive in full confinement, and we were a bit scared of everything..... saturated with contradictory information, with follow-up visits from the primary care centre cancelled, with changed protocols in the hospital ... among all the noise, Imma brings us calm, serenity, presence and a lot of confidence until THE day arrives. We are infinitely grateful for how Imma supported me during the birth, how she took care of us and how she believed in us. Her gaze, her voice, her words... gave me the strength to carry on when I couldn't go on any longer. Uriel decided to be born later and it broke my plans... it was not as I imagined but Imma's presence, her knowledge of how to be when there was all the pressure of the moment and her confidence, helped me to get to the end and experience a beautiful birth - in spite of the tension we lived through. We can NEVER thank her enough. THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!!

"Imma was the midwife we chose to accompany us during the home birth of our daughter, Zoe. We are very happy that we chose her because she proved to be an excellent professional at all times. You can really feel all the experience she has and that makes you always feel that everything will go well, that home birth is the best decision you have made and that she is the best professional there was to accompany you. We only have words of thanks for her and we are already recommending her to other couples who want to have a totally respected, beautiful and empowering home birth. "
Núria Roura Peregrina
Mother of Zoe, born 12/04/2020
"When we met Imma for the first time, we knew that if we decided to give birth at home it would be with her, we didn't need to see or meet anyone else. Finally, we decided that yes, we would give birth at home. Throughout the entire pregnancy she conveyed calmness, trust, respect for my decisions and a great deal of confidence in her professionalism. The last weeks of pregnancy I felt especially nervous at times (my blood pressure was at the limit of being able to give birth at home, and the days were passing and the birth was not coming); once again I was very grateful for her accompaniment, her confidence in me and my son, her professionalism, her respect and also the touch of humour she added to the whole situation, which helped me a lot.
And when the time came to give birth, I felt accompanied by respect, trust, calm and professionalism. It was a birth that empowered me a lot.
And finally, there was the post-partum accompaniment, where her presence once again gave me confidence, security, respect and professionalism. "

"From the first moment I met Imma, it was clear to me that she would be my midwife. A powerful woman, with clear ideas and an exceptional professional profile; without leaving behind the human and close treatment she has. The journey towards my first maternity at her side has been very enriching. Always available to provide answers, to calm, to encourage or to embrace at all times.
Experiencing the birth at home has been wild and empowering and, at the same time, with the peace of mind of knowing that I was well accompanied by my partner and Imma. Letting nature flow was my main task; if anything went astray, she was there to control it all.
It is especially worth mentioning the unparalleled help of having a midwife like her during the post-partum period, a time when often everything is overflowing and she has been a light to follow at the beginning of this wonderful journey with my daughter and my partner. "
Laura Ramon Sala
Mother of Dàlia, born on 29/02/2020
"I only have positive feelings and gratitude towards my partner Laura for having proposed to me, for the birth of our daughter Dàlia, to carry out the birth at home and to be able to enter a wonderful and strongly empowering world of life. An unforgettable experience lived with love and the constant expectation of what was totally unknown to me. And to her too, for choosing Imma as my midwife and birth assistant. In Imma I have found an excellent professional, scientific, rigorous, human and with a dose of empathy out of place; a close person from whom I have learnt a lot during all these months of professional relationship. A great experience. "

"From the moment we met Imma for the first time, it was clear to me that I wanted to be accompanied by her. It was the best decision we could have made to accompany the pregnancy, dilation and postpartum. All the information we received during the pregnancy, in a clear way, made us debate and choose between all the available options in every possible aspect. We hesitated until the last moment whether to do only dilation or home birth, Imma was totally flexible in this regard. Finally an emergency made us move to the hospital, with her quick action and the serenity of her accompaniment those moments were a little less hard. In the postpartum period, having Imma was great, being able to resolve doubts and have the peace of mind of her follow-up until she saw that everything was working well. Thank you Imma for your work and for the passion with which you carry it out. "

"Perhaps the most beautiful thing about this birth is the journey. I was lucky enough to attend a natural childbirth training with Néixer a Casa that opened my mind about my expectations and what I could expect from a hospital birth. After several appointments at the private clinic I decided that the only way to have a chance of a respectful birth would be at home, well accompanied.
I remember every moment, from the first contractions at 5pm until I received my son in my hands at 10pm. It was a magical moment that I have told a thousand times to my family and friends. I want everyone to know that we all carry within us a unique energy that makes us capable of giving birth. I wish you all to prepare for this special day to accompany your baby in this transition, in the best conditions.
I am very happy to have had the opportunity to meet Imma through a recommendation. Imma is an extremely professional midwife, caring and passionate about her work. I especially appreciated the attention given to my husband to make him as comfortable as I was with a home birth. I am proud to have believed in myself and to have been able to give birth to little Leo in the sweetness and tranquillity of my home. Thank you so much Imma!"

"Imma is a midwife who transmits a proven confidence in her performance. She is very professional and experienced, clear, didactic and at the same time empathetic. We feel very fortunate to have had her by our side. We experienced an obstetric emergency and we felt in good hands at all times".

"We contacted Imma so that she could accompany us during the dilation at home and then go to the hospital for the birth of our first daughter Jana.
At the first contact, my partner and I left with the feeling that we could not miss this accompaniment. We had not looked at other options, and had been guided by the good recommendation of a friend. The doubt was more from an economic point of view. It seems that receiving this accompaniment has to be a luxury, and it shouldn't be. Having experienced the birth and postpartum I can say that more than a luxury it has been an investment, an investment that has made my birth an entirely positive experience. One of the things that struck me about my friend's birth experience was that she said she would like to give birth more times. This is also a feeling that I keep with me. Giving birth, but above all giving birth in this way, has marked a before and after in my life, not only for the fact of having a daughter but for the experience itself. What I would highlight about Imma's accompaniment is above all her professionalism: the rigour with which she does things, and the passion she exudes for her work. "

"Imma is a wonderful professional. At all times I have felt accompanied and respected.
After a first experience of a hospital birth and intervention with my first child, this second home birth with Imma has been a fantastic experience; in a way even restorative.
Truly a unique, exciting and very satisfying experience. On a personal level it has been an empowering process".

"As they had been warning me throughout the pregnancy, Guiu would be born when, where and how he wanted, and after preparing a thousand stories for the day of birth and above all waiting for the day of birth, in the end Guiu decided to be born when he wanted, quickly and wildly, almost without giving us time to digest that the moment had arrived. During the final stretch of the pregnancy, I had a lot in my mind that on the day of the birth all the ghosts would appear, and fear would take over the moment, but the truth is that in no case it was like that. I had made up my mind that I would give birth at home, that I would give birth soon and that I would do it alone, and I felt really able and willing to do it. In the end it was not like that and when Imma arrived I felt relieved and calm and I put all my energy into the process. Thanks to her guidance, the expulsion was calm, slow and respectful, and Guiu landed in earthly life surrounded by his little watery medium. From the moment I met her I knew she would be present at my birth and it was the best decision we could have made.
Thank you for becoming part of the history of our big little family. "

"I met Imma for the first time at a talk she gave in Mataró when I was 4.5 months pregnant. At that time I had no idea what I wanted for the birth of my first baby. Being a foreigner in a foreign healthcare system, expecting my first child, I felt vulnerable and lost. This talk planted a seed that continued to grow over the next few months and I finally dared to admit that the only way I could have control over how my baby would be born was to have her at home. But I think, in the end, it wasn't just about giving birth at home, it was about giving birth with a person I felt complete trust in from the first time I met her. I think, in a way, meeting Imma opened my eyes to what birth could be like. What she made me understand was that it was not an experience that I should look forward to, but something that could make me feel powerful, fearless and that it was up to me how I wanted to bring my baby into this world. Imma gave me the keys to understand that giving birth is "messy/dirty" and unpredictable, but also beautiful, intimate and fragile on a level I could never have imagined. Some people come into your life when you need them. Imma was the best person for me to prepare for the birth of my daughter and to be there guiding me when she was born. Her professionalism and passion showed me that midwifery, at its best, is an art. Myself, my husband and Aune could not have been in better hands. Words cannot express how much love and gratitude I feel for the journey we made together".

"We have been very fortunate to be able to welcome the little one home. Meeting Imma has been an immense opportunity to learn and connect with the pa / maternity and empower us to make childbirth a way to (re) know ourselves in a more animal, mammalian way, a part that otherwise the "health system" would have made a bit more difficult for us. We had just decided to have a homebirth after the halfway point of the pregnancy, but with Imma we felt supported at all times with any decision we made, helping us to question the reasons for things and helping us to find answers based on the best scientific evidence and professionalism that characterises her. When the baby seemed like she wanted to arrive, during the 3 days we were in labour, Imma never left us at any time, always available by message or call at any time of the day, even coming home at two in the morning to reassure us and make sure that we were all well. Throughout the birth she was very respectful with us, with the baby, it was like having someone from the family accompanying us in this special moment for all of us. We only have words of gratitude for having had this experience and we would definitely repeat. Thank you Imma! "

"For me, being accompanied by Imma has been an opportunity. An opportunity to work on many personal aspects. From feeling capable as a woman to convincing myself that revolution and change can also be exercised from such intimate and transcendental acts as how to live your own pregnancy and give birth to my child.
The journey has had moments of doubts and fears, greatly enhanced by going against the health system established as normal, healthy and safe (how ironic!), but I have always felt free to be able to communicate this during visits with Imma. This has been especially important for me to feel calm when it comes to expressing myself and making decisions. Today, I could not be prouder of the process I have gone through and of the fact that she has been my companion. She is a direct, clear person who transmits confidence and security, who gives you information and the power to make decisions without questioning or judging. And that, too, has been a learning experience of conscious responsibility in terms of decision-making. Something we are not used to in this society.
I would like to thank her for the work she does every day because she, as well as the midwives I have had the pleasure to meet, are doing militancy and revolution so that women can take the role that belongs to them during pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
Thank you very much for the accompaniment Imma, a pleasure. I would repeat it a thousand times with my eyes closed. Thank you for your presence and professionalism".
Judit Perea Alba
Mother of Far, born 11/06/2019.
"From the first moment we met Imma, what I felt was the tranquillity she transmitted to my partner, Judit, Far's mother. Imma always says that Judit's path comes from further away, but in any case she clearly rebelled against me at that moment. After that first conversation Judit was a different person. She began to believe in herself, she began to become aware and to connect with herself. This work that Judit was doing is supported by Imma's day to day life.
Imma is a warm, approachable and approachable person who knows how to pass on her knowledge and gives you the information you need to make informed decisions. She talks about everything, from all the necessary points of view and without any prejudice. She is direct, transparent and unsweetened. When you need a hug, she is there, but also when you need a jolt.
During the birth, I freaked out... always present and connected, as if she was floating around the house. Always one step ahead of the situation, with a serene face, radiating calmness. Her presence allowed me to enjoy one of the most special days with peace of mind and security.
Very happy to have enjoyed your company, your experience and your knowledge. A pleasure !!!"

"I came from a first induced labour and obstetric violence. The feeling that my birth had been stolen from me and that my daughter had been taken out before she was ready affected me emotionally and physically on a daily basis. I couldn't help but think constantly that I would have liked to experience my birth to the fullest, from beginning to end. I felt I had a lot of healing to do. I wrote my testimony anonymously in a group and Imma's loving response made me think about what I wanted for my next birth. I wanted, among other things, to feel cared for and respected. I decided to meet her, I felt that she could take care of me and accompany me as I needed. That day, we had no doubts, we decided that she would accompany us through the pregnancy and the birth. I had a hunch that she would know how to give me peace of mind, confidence and that she would know how to accompany me. During the pregnancy, I was happier and happier to have her every day. If I had any doubts, she reassured me and gave me confidence. She explained everything very clearly and in a loving way. The day of the birth came and she knew how to be there for me. She knew how to be there supporting me and encouraging me at all times. Giving me love and taking care of me. I felt safe and happy. It was magical. Owning my birth, my body and being connected to my baby at all times was an experience I will never forget and allowed me to heal from my previous birth. She was very caring and professional at all times. During the postpartum period, she continued to take care of me and thanks to her recommendations, I had a very good postpartum. There are not enough words to describe how grateful I am to you. Thank you for everything Imma, you will always be part of our story".

"In Imma I have discovered a midwife who starts with the person, not the profession. She transforms her function and her work into humanity, into closeness and into providing the couple and especially the mother with unquestionable tranquillity and security. The closeness and helping us to enjoy the whole process of pregnancy and to dream of a respectful, humane and emotional birth was very beautiful. And at no time did the image of the perfect birth avoid talking about all the possible scenarios. It was also there that we discovered Imma, an expert, reassuring, "a crack", who showed us all the possible scenarios (the good and the not so good) that could happen on the day of the birth. I don't want to extend my testimony too much, but I must say that in our case both the pregnancy and the birth were magical, human to infinity, and full of emotion. Everything went better than we dreamed and I will never forget the moment when Paula, my wife, received our son Pablo in her arms. The tears that came to both of us at that moment are the ones I will always remember when I think of Imma and tell her again and again, THANK YOU. Thank you for healing the emotional wounds we had, thank you for making what we saw as a mountain look so easy, and for showing us that belief is power. And that women are strong, much stronger than traditional hospitals would have us believe, and that the body is wise and programmed to give birth. Thank you for so many teachings and for so much love".

"I open my eyes a little, I look for Imma... I only see her eyes... but they are not hers. I see them green and very big and bright. It connects me to Egypt, I don't know why, I feel her from there, I feel magic, power, I feel her as a witch, a sorceress, a magician, from another world or plane of the universe. I know it's her but also that she transforms with me, that it's powerful to feel her like that, I don't want to forget that image, and luckily I don't. ....
Imma, you don't know it but you are more than my midwife, you are a ninja, a ninja guardian of love and life, you are my person for these important things. I will love you always. I will think of you and remember you always and we will have contact forever, I can't conceive it any other way".

"Thank you so much Imma for joining us in this incredible experience. Thank you for giving me all the emotional, physical, scientific and logistical support I needed to feel even more empowered to face this wonderful experience of giving birth at home. I can't imagine having done it any other way or with the support of anyone else.
Words cannot describe my satisfaction with the help and dedication you have given us.
Apart from what other mothers have already said about your professionalism and the rigour and seriousness with which you have been informing us about the whole process, I feel very grateful because being able to discover your work up close has inspired me a lot. It seems to me to be the most beautiful profession in the world. Seeing your passion and dedication in such a delicate and important profession is a great inspiration.
After sharing all these months, especially the birth and postpartum experiences, we feel you are now irremediably and forever part of our family!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart Imma "

"With Imma I felt confident from the first minute. I felt that she empowered us throughout the whole process: before, during and after the birth.
As a parent, it made me feel involved in the experience in a very natural way.
Imma is a very transparent person and works in a very honest way which helps to transmit a lot of confidence and security. When describing her, the word integrity comes to mind, integrity as a person and as a professional.

"I gave birth with Imma twice... and I would still give birth with her if I had the opportunity to do so. In fact I chose to give birth with her before I chose to give birth at home. When I met her, the place became a secondary issue, but her accompaniment was paramount. I will always be grateful to her for her great professionalism, her availability, her gentleness, her openness, her hugs, which are as warm and tender as those of a mother.

"I feel lucky to have met Imma as a midwife. Thanks to her, my partner and my conviction, I have been able to make one of my life's dreams come true!
After having our first child by caesarean section, I was really emotionally affected by what it had meant not being able to give birth to her. There will be people who will not understand me, who will relativise my pain and focus on the fact that we were both fine, but I was not fine. I felt that I had betrayed myself and that my mammal had been deeply wounded. This meant that the arrival of a second child was a long time coming and I needed to wait, to really want another child, and not just go in search of a birth (accepting and being aware that history could repeat itself). When I found out that I was pregnant for the second time, my search for someone professional to accompany me through the whole process was very quick. I knew of Imma's existence through the website of the cesarean support, and I, as with our first daughter, was clear that I wanted to try a home birth. I needed to find someone I could trust and who would trust me, too. Because, depending on the setting, having a previous caesarean seemed like a condemnation to repeat the situation. So, after a phone call and a visit with her, I felt I had found the person I wanted to accompany me on this beautiful journey. Imma has been a sunshine. A lighthouse that accompanied and guided us with great professionalism. At all times, I felt and we felt that she empowered us and accompanied us with respect, sensitivity and scientific rigour. So, when I was one month pregnant, I decided that Imma would be our midwife. What a magnificent professional and what a great person! It was the right choice!
I experienced a beautiful, intense and at some point, long labour. I felt that it was dragging on (three days), but in reality, now I think it wasn't long, it was just what my body needed. And with Imma it was! No rush, no pressure, respecting my body and our daughter, feeling listened to, cared for and pampered at all times, feeling safe and with almost exquisite professional support and attention. I experienced it with peace of mind and confidence. Imma and my partner created the perfect climate and tandem to accompany me on this journey, which I will not forget, a jewel that I will always keep in my heart. I can never be grateful enough for what this accompaniment and this birth meant to me, because I am sure that in a hospital, for various reasons based on the discourse of fear, they would not have let me give birth. Thank you, thank you and thank you a thousand times for trusting me and our little Iona. Thank you. "
Laura Santamaria Arjona
Mother of Asia

"As Laura's partner, I have had the feeling that everything has been easy, and I think this is due to Imma's tempo and professionalism. Both during the visits to her surgery in Barcelona, as well as the visits she made to our home, before, during and after the birth, a very nice atmosphere was created, with laughter, infusions and chats.
During the birth, my role was to look after and help the women in the house. I have to tell you that Imma changes a bit during the birth, she becomes quietly direct, she executes the actions in a very natural way but at the same time very thought out and practised, you can see that she has many births in her hands, and this as a couple, gives a lot of peace of mind.
I don't know what else to say, just that I'm very happy with how everything went, and that my partner was able to make a life dream come true.
Thanks for everything Imma !!!! "

"We have just had the pleasure of having Imma at the birth of our beautiful daughter. I can honestly say she is amazing and would recommend her 1000 times over. We currently reside in Spain but are originally from Cape Town, South Africa. God led us to Imma, who speaks English and was willing to travel to our home (an hour's drive from her home). The birth was like no other, she is so kind, considerate, hygienic, empathetic, patient, expert, encouraging, and the list goes on and on. It could not have been better. She respected our every wish and we had no problem doing what she instructed us to do when necessary. Overall, she is highly recommended as a midwife, you won't have to worry about anything if you have Imma, her postpartum care is phenomenal too! She won't discharge you until everything is 100% for you and your baby. Thank you, Imma, we feel blessed and thankful to God for having you".

"We are so happy with our home birth experience that we cannot be very objective. We are ecstatic. Imma's role has been impeccable. We could say that she has done nothing and in this doing nothing, she has done everything. Like the Taoist Wu-Wei. She has been available to 100% from the very first moment. Each meeting has been like entering an ancient library and discovering the unattainable knowledge it holds: contrasted and updated scientific evidence, health recommendations from a holistic, integral and respectful perspective, infinite cases that illustrate each decision.
Accompanying my pregnancy has helped me to recognise my autonomy and therefore my power as a woman, as a user of health services and as a member of a changing society that needs to renew itself. This power has been the key to experiencing pregnancy as a moment of vitality and growth that has left a strong imprint and that I hope will extend to the rest of my life.
At the moment of birth, curiously, I did not allow her any intervention (I told her no to everything !!!!!) and at the same time, her presence was the great intervention. The accompaniment of my emotions, decisions and rhythms turned the birth experience into a totally healing moment, given that the previous one had not been like that.
And in the postpartum period, her being there has been decisive. Knowing that you have an expert available 24 hours a day makes everything more bearable and any signs of alarm can be contained more easily. Her visits were jovial, fresh and at the same time expert. Her messages boosted my confidence as a mother at such a delicate time. Because postpartum is a very delicate time and her care has helped us to remember that. She emphasised my weakest moments, all my emotions, all my vulnerability. She has taken care of my eldest daughter, the father of the babies and even my parents!"

"I can only THANK LIFE for putting Imma on our path, for being available to accompany us in this small revolution. It has been a pleasure from the moment we met her: close, clear, empowering, a source of wisdom and respect. We had no doubt that whatever happened, she would know how to detect it and act.
As a woman I have felt listened to, important, embraced, free and capable. I have been able to heal a first very medicalised birth and she has accompanied me without judging me, always trusting in the baby and in us, giving options to very protocolised medical opinions, freeing us from fears that the current health system has been placing on us. During labour she was present at every contraction, taking care of me without infantilising or underestimating me. It has been warmth, words that have given me strength, a know-how mimicking what the moment required: intimacy. And afterwards, it was care, love and a solution to any doubt.
This experience has been a priceless gift. Everything makes so much sense. THANK YOU IMMA! "

"Having Imma as a midwife has been so wonderful that I lack words to explain it, and that's considering that I am a very demanding and critical person. I will try anyway. I hired her because I wanted to give birth at home to my second daughter, after having given birth to the first one at home but in Canada, where she is covered by social security. The first pregnancy and birth went very well, the midwives there were very professional, and with the second pregnancy and again in Catalonia I wanted, if it was not possible to repeat such a good experience, at least a good service. Well, Imma not only surpassed by far many aspects of the follow-up and treatment I received in Canada (and we are talking about just one person in front of a team of midwives), but she has become part of my story and my family. On a professional level and during the pregnancy, she followed me exhaustively and informed me in detail of the whole process, of my and my baby's state of health, of each test and the results; when I had to make a choice or take a decision, she explained to me and my husband all the options available, always based on scientific evidence and without taking a position, very respectfully. In this sense, I must say that Imma is an excellent communicator: she gives all the necessary information clearly, she is empathetic, listens attentively, resolves doubts and makes you feel at ease and comfortable at all times to express everything you feel and think. For me this was vital, that there was complicity with the person who was taking part in such delicate and important moments in our lives, and Imma responded in everything beyond expectations. Apart from having years of experience as a midwife and knowing how to communicate it, she is passionate about her work and creates a magnificent bond on a human level: she is friendly and fun, at the same time serious, punctual and efficient. You can trust her, and that is always the case; I have met few people you can trust like that. To give you a concrete example, in this second pregnancy I was not feeling well but the social security authorities got rid of me, telling me that it was normal, because I was tired from having another daughter, etc.; Imma, on the other hand, did not stop until she found the reasons for a tiredness that both she and I saw as abnormal: she checked the analyses, did urine tests, and it was her (and not my midwives at the CAP, nor at San Juan de Dios when I went to the emergency room) who detected a urine infection that could be related to the faintness I was suffering and painful contractions in the second trimester. Thanks to her perseverance and always being attentive and available, we were able to solve it in time and finish the pregnancy normally. During the birth, Imma managed to do what I needed most: to accompany me, intervening as little as possible. She gave me the space I needed to concentrate, she was always close by, she helped me to bear the pain during the contractions with back massages (this went on for hours), she created an atmosphere at home of silence and love and transcendence... Thanks to all this, during the whole birth I felt calm, safe, supported and strong, and this allowed me to enjoy and be very conscious. Accompanying my little daughter into the world in this environment and company was a privileged and beautiful experience that I cannot explain. Both my husband and I feel very fortunate to have had her by our side during all that time ... And I am still at a loss for words. Thank you, Imma. May many other families enjoy your wisdom and kindness for many years to come!"

"Home birth has brought two people into my life: my son and Imma.
Not a day goes by that I don't try to remember a moment of childbirth, I don't want to forget it. I remember smells, looks, lights, songs, hands... hands that embraced me, that held me, that caressed me, that squeezed hard to soothe. I remember it and I get excited every time.
And that was exactly what Imma told us the first time we visited her: we all know how to give birth, we just have to trust in ourselves.
But in addition to that trust, I thank you for the security, peace of mind and professionalism. A huge THANK YOU for always being there, on the other side, even after the birth.
Hopefully the day will come when the public and private health system will give all women the possibility to choose to give birth at home".

"I wanted my first birth to be at home, but inexperienced, far from home, and thinking about the cost, I let everyone convince me that hospital births were also respected. Unfortunately this was not the case. Hospital protocols rarely respect the rhythm of a birth. They broke my bag, refilled it, and kept pestering me throughout the 18-hour labour. A labour that ended up being much longer than it could have been, and where I felt like I was fighting the hospital staff rather than being for my birth.
This time I didn't want to go through it again. My husband and I were convinced that we wanted a different experience, one in which our daughter could also participate. Where tempos were respected, and where there was no obstetric violence. We spoke to several midwives and Imma is the one who gave us the most confidence. She gives a lot of information, with scientific articles, with experiences, and with information about how it is done in other countries, and all of this makes you feel safe with her, you can trust her, and you know that what she is doing has been checked before and that she has all the necessary information.
We had many sessions throughout the pregnancy in which Imma informed us of everything, the risks, the procedures, everything that could happen, so that nothing would come as a surprise and we would be prepared for everything that could happen. It is a very important accompaniment for a pregnant woman, especially nowadays, when sometimes we miss having a tribe with whom we can share everything that happens to us. On the day of the birth, I contacted her at 22:00 at night, when the contractions started. She came home right away, she and my husband prepared the pool, and arranged the dining room to be a quiet place, with little light, and to respect everything that was going on. My son was born at 1:00 in the morning, in the pool, where I could hold him myself, and I didn't have to think at any time about scolding anyone because they did something I didn't want them to do. Imma's presence was essential, she helped me with massages during contractions, with breathing, and with her presence, because just by being there, you feel safe. A birth is a moment that can be very empowering for a woman, but only if it is respected. An unrespected birth can bring many problems for both the baby (extraction with forceps, etc) and the mother (unnecessary caesarean sections, haemorrhages and psychological disorder), and I think people are not aware enough of the problem.
All women are capable of giving birth, all we need is a midwife we can fully trust. Imma, for me, has been this woman. That is why I will always be grateful to her. "

"I don't hide it: Imma is my aunt. From this point of view, it might seem that we had already decided to give birth at home from the very beginning, but we didn't. Before we were pregnant with Emma, it never crossed my mind to give birth at home. Before we were pregnant with Emma, it had never crossed my mind to give birth at home. I had an image of childbirth that made it totally incompatible with giving birth at home. But the birth preparation we did with her made all the fears and insecurities I had disappear and turned into knowledge, motivation and strong arguments for Emma to be born at home. And so it was. The birth was an experience. Totally different to how I had imagined it at the beginning, but very similar to how I imagined it at the end of the pregnancy. Imma creates the ideal environment for the birth to flow, for the body to do what it should do. Imma does not intervene: she accompanies you, helps you, encourages you, gives you security, confidence ... And that is how the body, on its own, works perfectly to culminate in the most magical moment of our lives. The birth of our daughter. "

"I write these words and I get emotional... I get emotional because I think that we are infinitely fortunate to have experienced the births of our two children in the best possible way and with the best professional there can be. Tears come to my eyes as I relive in my mind the two most important moments of our lives and in both of them, our dear Imma plays an important role. I can't imagine my births without her... thank you for being there and making everything so easy, magical and unique. I wish, all women on this planet had this opportunity, just to trust in themselves and their capacity and love to be able to give birth. We have to change the way our children are born for the world to really change. WE LOVE YOU Imma".

"I contacted Imma via Skype in the first weeks of my pregnancy and from the very first moment I knew I wanted her to accompany me. She has always been close and very professional, whether from a screen thousands of miles away or helping me to hold my son for the first time.
Given the importance for reproductive, sexual and personal life that midwifery work entails, it is admirable how she can maintain a position of neutrality, always putting the scientific evidence first. No opinion. Even if her opinion and advice is what you want, she helps and empowers you to be the one to decide for yourself what decisions to make.
Imma accompanied us in my second pregnancy and delivery, and it was precisely on the day of the birth that I realised that my eldest son was born in the prodromal phase after a pharmacologically accelerated labour that ended in caesarean section. This second time it was a long prelabour, in which Imma came home twice due to a false alarm. She always encouraged me and patiently accompanied us.
And on the fourth day of contractions that came and went, things got going. I was exhausted from the previous days, "I don't want to give birth, I want to sleep" I told her. But there was no turning back. And amidst screams, sweat, blood and poo, I gave birth to my second son, Dante was born. In our house. That night the four of us slept together in our bed.
Imma didn't leave until she had everything tidied up and made sure that both the baby and I were well and that the baby was sucking. No rushing, no unnecessary routines. I felt very cared for and accompanied by her.
This care did not stop after the birth, but continued during the postpartum period in the form of increasingly more frequent visits until we were both discharged.
Without a doubt I feel very satisfied that a person like Imma has accompanied us in this stage of our lives, we will remember her with great affection".

"Throughout the pregnancy, birth and postpartum I felt calm and confident, and I know that one of the key reasons for this was being accompanied by Imma. My husband was also quickly impressed by her professionalism in one of the first interviews we did.
I now realise that the birth of my son Magnus could not have been any other way. I didn't have high expectations and I was open to the experience, but I have to say that if I had imagined childbirth a few times during pregnancy, the birth that finally took place was nothing like it: it was infinitely better, more magical, more powerful.
Imma knew how to accompany me at all times according to my needs, and in fact she always encouraged me to tell her what my preferences and/or expectations were so that she could attend to me accordingly. During the birth her silent but constant presence made me feel very well.
I would recommend any woman to choose Imma Sàrries for the birth of her baby".

"I was very clear that I wanted a home birth, what I wasn't sure about was who would accompany me... until I met Imma well into my third trimester. Then it was clear to me and although we had some setbacks, it was the right choice.
Imma is strong, very strong and with an excellent preparation. Because of the way I am, Imma was ideal to give me the confidence and security I needed. She was also very important for my partner. During the birth he looked at her and knew that he could be at ease. With her maternity classes and visits she made the new role of the father flow with mine, like a dance, which helped me to have a wonderful postpartum. After the birth Imma checks that everything is working well and that is needed, it really is! I really appreciate the visits afterwards. Being lovingly cared for at home is priceless."

"Having Imma as my midwife was a fantastic experience; never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that the whole process would be so spectacularly beautiful.
First of all Imma is an excellent professional, she informed us about all the birthing procedures during the antepartum visits. She explained everything objectively and offered us documents and readings so that we could make the choice that best suited us.
Most importantly, at no time were we pressured by his judgement, beliefs or opinions; at all times he found what we chose to be perfect without any judgement whatsoever.
In the weeks that went by, Imma became a person of great trust, her visits and support were unconditional throughout the process, becoming the person of reference and with whom to share emotions, frustrations, fears and joys at all times.
As for the process of giving birth, Imma has a great gift, and her accompaniment was beyond imagination; she is always there unconditionally but as if she were not there - accompanying with great respect, encouragement and invaluable knowledge (herbs, her hands, her energy, her voice and her gaze).
Thank you for being there every moment and going out of your way to give us the birth that has filled our hearts."

"Imma was really amazing for us. Her English is excellent, the level of knowledge she has is exemplary and her care was exactly what we needed.
She gave us the confidence to have our baby at home. Not pushing any agenda, but making us feel safe, informed, empowered and reassured. It is a rare quality to be able to really fit into other people's way of being and Imma handles it perfectly. We never felt like we were not in control of our own situation.
Imma takes being a midwife very seriously, she takes it personally to do the best job possible, and treats our needs with the same level of respect and care.

"After nine months of growing together, with a pregnancy full of good energy and vitality, on 29/9/17 we met Jana, our daughter! It was a meeting in our home after a natural, efficient and beautiful birth.
Childbirth made us sing!!! Never better said because, without having premeditated it, I gave birth singing!!!! What a power of the voice, what a connection and what a strength! After many years of studying it through different techniques, both physical and energetic, I perceived as never before, its capacity to release tensions and to expand. A potential we have... Brutal!!! And, well, that's how Jana arrived at our little house, making her way through a mattress of love and a range of notes and sounds. It was an incredible, intimate and very intense experience.
Jana has arrived at a time of great social movement and, paradoxically, she has filled our home with the sweetest and most peaceful of revolutions: the milk revolution! Hehehehe! She is beautiful and very good... What can we say... We are in love with her!!!
I want to thank the great work done by Imma Sàrries, our midwife. A professional who loves and transforms her work into art and who has helped us to have the confidence, serenity and strength to bring, naturally, a life into our world. Her accompaniment during the whole process (pre-birth, birth and post-birth) has been excellent, clear and very effective. Currently, once we have been discharged, we continue to feel accompanied as she offers us her availability (not urgent) for any doubt or situation. Once again, Imma, thank you very much for your great work and for offering the world little grains of sand full of love and affection!!!!
The road continues and now we will continue dancing more than ever!!!! Hahaha!!! May the music of life continue to accompany us, no matter what happens, with so much light and so much love! Hugs".

"Imma is a great professional, her long experience as a midwife shows in the confidence and security she transmits. She provided us with all the information we were looking for and more, always based on scientific studies, and it was very useful for us to be able to face the birth and the breastfeeding period. From the moment we met her, we felt very accompanied as she is very affectionate and knows how to give the necessary space so that both the mother and the couple can express their emotions (essential in a process as important as this where so many feelings are stirred up). We are very grateful to you! "

"The birth of our son Loïc at home has been a unique, very intense and exciting experience for us. The monthly visits before the birth were very useful, Imma always answered all our questions and always provided us with up-to-date information based on scientific evidence. As it was our first child, the birth took a long time, but Imma always encouraged us to go ahead, informing us when we needed it of the situation and putting the different possible options within our reach. Her accompaniment was very professional, respectful and warm. We had a last minute complication with the placenta, which did not come out so we went to the hospital, but we managed to have our son born at home. We will never forget the excitement of the minutes before his arrival and the moment I was able to hold him with my own hands! Imma accompanied us to the hospital and then came home to pick everything up, it was 24 hours of dedication with 100% involvement! Thanks to her experience, patience, and human qualities we managed to transcend the difficult moments and Loïc was born safe and sound on the sofa at home. "

"It was my third pregnancy, and the shadow of the inductions I had experienced with my other two children hung over my head. I wanted very much for my baby not to have the day of birth imposed on him as his brother and sister had been, and to be able to consciously help him in his passage to the other side of the skin. To know the development of a physiological birth in which both of us were respected, without haste, without impositions, without unnecessary interventions. At the pace set by the nature of two connected bodies.
My husband did not agree to a home birth, I suppose because of the fear caused by misinformation. I had already suggested it to him when I was pregnant with our second daughter, and in the face of his categorical refusal I decided to find a more "respectful" hospital, only to find myself faced with rigid and obsolete protocols, the game of fear and the "luck" of finding someone respectful on the day of the birth. This time I was not willing to give in.
That was when we met Imma and we knew it had to be her. Even my husband came out of that first interview with a different concept. She transmitted serenity, sincerity, strength, security, confidence and professionalism. During the pregnancy, she helped us to make our own decisions, always with the scientific evidence in hand, and visit after visit, little by little, she prepared us for the big day. That longed-for day. Imma was a constant physical and emotional support, strong, effective and serene, loving and respectful, guardian of our baby's and my own wellbeing. LISTENING without interruption, ACCOMPANYING every second. And so Alma was born, in the intimacy of our home, giving us the gift of a healing birth, an indescribable experience.
Imma's support was key in the last days of pregnancy, and of course, also in the immediate postpartum period.
Carlos, like me, is clear that, because we found her in the third (and more than likely last pregnancy), if not he would repeat at home and with her without hesitation.
We will ALWAYS keep her in our hearts. THANK YOU Imma".

"Same mother. The same father. The same midwife. But: two births, two worlds.
In October 2013 Imma accompanied us in the birth process of our first son, Quirze. It was a long and intense birth, emotionally and physically. We spent 84 hours with our waters broken, but Imma's support and professionalism made us stick to our decision to give birth at home. We remember the days of labour and postpartum with a mixture of happiness and suffering, nostalgia and pride.
And on 6 April our daughter, Neret, was born, a very quick and uncomplicated birth. During the preparation process for this second birth, we were a little afraid that the patterns of the first one would be repeated. Imma insisted that every birth is different and that second births are usually quicker. And so it was. Our waters broke at 9:30 at night, and at 4:07 in the morning Neret was born. A bam-bam! We hardly noticed and she was already with us.
These two experiences have convinced us that the best place to welcome a birth is in our own home, not only so that it is respected and as little instrumentalised as possible, but also because we receive our children and connect for the first time with their soul in a place that is our own, intimate, welcoming and full of calm and love. And in these conditions we are able to capture and experience fascinating experiences. In this second birth, for example, when Neret's head had just come out, Quirze, our eldest son who was sleeping in another room, woke up. And then Neret's body came out. It was incredible to experience such a great connection between the two brothers! We would have missed this in a hospital. Just as Quirze would have missed feeling included from minute 0 in the process of receiving and welcoming his little sister.
Two different children, two different births, two different personalities. We hope to continue learning with these two little people who have made us a family.
Thank you Imma for making it possible! We love you and will always carry you in our hearts. "

"When my friend Elisabetta told me two years ago that she had given birth at home, I thought she was crazy! In the new millennium to take the risk of giving birth at home? I thought - but I didn't say anything, out of respect for her decision. Her birth went perfectly and Eli told me so enthusiastically about her experience that I started to read up on it, and when I became pregnant a year later, my partner and I evaluated the possibility of giving birth at home, and probably with the same midwife as my friend: Imma.
We met her when I was four months pregnant and we had what in Italy is called "colpo di fulmine": we had no doubt that she had to be our midwife. But I, having endocrine problems, was not convinced that I could give birth at home: the hospital told me that my birth was high risk, because of my pathology and my 40 years, and this made me insecure; so we told Imma that we should dilate at home and then give birth at the hospital.
Imma was fantastic from the beginning: she accepted our decision but also started to study my health situation, she put me in contact with a very good endocrinologist who is in favour of home births, she even put me in contact with Michel Odent; and little by little we understood that my pathology did not entail any risk for the birth, despite the "psychological terrorism" that some doctor wanted to put on me!
Moreover, at every consultation, Imma demonstrated all the qualities we wanted from the professional who followed us: full competence in every aspect of childbirth and everything that surrounded it, great emotional understanding, affection, kindness and respect, and above all a lot of concreteness, which reassured me a lot. My partner was convinced from the very beginning that she wanted to give birth at home, and a couple of months before the birth I was also convinced.
It was fantastic, powerful, intimate, respectful, romantic, I lived completely and intensely every second of the most important experience of my life and of our life, I gave birth, or rather Petra and I did, with the incredible support of Imma and my partner, but we both did it: my daughter and I, and I am more than sure that this joint effort, this power that Petra had at the moment of her birth, will be a treasure that will accompany her throughout her life and will give her strength to overcome any obstacle.
Imma was fabulous during the birth: present every moment I needed her and invisible the rest of the time; proactive but immensely respectful and totally listening to my wishes and needs; and in the moments when I was getting discouraged she encouraged me with kindness, respect and good energy: at every moment I knew Imma was there for me and I never felt abandoned, I was never afraid, I knew everything was fine and everything was going well.
What I didn't know was that I would have a breastfeeding problem: that's where my pathology made itself felt because the hormonal imbalance didn't make me produce enough milk. I had a difficult first few weeks with my baby's weight loss, the breast pump, the breast pump, the other ways of supplementing her with formula... and Imma was there for every moment of difficulty, for much longer than expected, until we found a good balance and until I calmed down. If it hadn't been for Imma I would have ended up giving only formula milk to my daughter, but Imma is not a woman to be discouraged, and her follow-up allowed me to find a balance between my milk and the goat formula. And by the way, now, after three months, I am feeding Petra only with the teat!
I don't think I will ever be able to thank you adequately, dear Imma, for everything you did for us! You will surely tell me "I just did my job" ... but I assure you that if everyone did their job with your professionalism, your love and your generosity, the world would be a much better place!!!".

"When I met Imma it was clear to me. I wanted her to be the one to accompany me to the birth of the Luan. It was "love at first sight". I guess it was because of her security and experience.
Despite being a second birth, fears existed, as Nuc's birth was very "intense" and the ghosts of childbirth were in my head more and more, but it was clear to me that I wanted to give birth at home again.
Imma's reassurance was what I needed, we talked about everything I had experienced in the previous birth and what I was most worried about happening again.
They say that every birth, like every pregnancy, is unique and different, but for me it was inevitable to compare it with the one I had already experienced.
I experienced the birth of Luan in a very special way because I knew it would be my last (by choice. Two children is what we had always wanted).
My fears that labour would stop or be too long were under control, Imma knew how to treat me at all times, encouraging me when I needed it, giving me the confidence to empower myself and live this birth without fear.
At no time did I feel that there was anything wrong. Perhaps because she anticipated everything that was happening so calmly.
We already had our first child at home and we were very happy with the accompaniment, but this time the experience was even better.
I have no words to explain how grateful we are, the whole process was perfect ... From the visits at home, the chats, the WhatsApp and of course the birth and postpartum.
I often talk to friends who tell me "what a brave woman to give birth at home". I'm sure they think I'm crazy, but they call me brave... (I also thought this of the first friend who told me she would give birth at home). And I tell them "you are brave to go to the hospital" because I know that if I went to the hospital, I would find it hard to stand firm so that they would respect the process that my body and my daughter need to give birth.
I don't think there is a better way to welcome your baby than at home with the people you love. For us it has been a privilege to do it with Imma. "

"After the birth of my first child by caesarean section I knew I needed someone to help me with the birth of my second child. I knew I didn't want a repeat of what happened with my first child, but I didn't know what steps to take. Meeting Imma was the first thing we did, as soon as we found out I was pregnant.
And so, holding Imma's strong hand, we walked the path that led us to our Gael.
To trust in Imma is to trust in yourself as a woman. With her you feel like a strong and powerful woman, capable of giving birth to your child the way you want. As she says a lot: TRUST. And I trusted a lot, firstly in my body, which I didn't believe it was capable of giving birth, and secondly in her, because together I knew that we would find the best way.
For Imma there are no witches or meigas, there is scientific evidence. And after the evidence, your own decision based on information. And although at first we only wanted to do dilation at home with her, the stars aligned and she accompanied us throughout the birth.
What a gift to have Imma accompany me in one of the most magical moments of our life !!!!
She used to say to my little boy in his ear when he was born: how well you have done, little boy, how you have helped your mummy!
No Imma precious, it was you who helped me and my Gael! You made the road easy for us!
Thank you for being such a professional and wonderful woman. Thank you for my VBAC! "

"My experience as a couple.
The first thing I thought when Mireia told me that she wanted to give birth at home was something like "kill me, truck... where have I got to! Then she explained her reasons to me: that she wanted a physiological, natural, respected birth... and that she thought that by doing it in a hospital, there was a good chance that it wouldn't be like that.
We started reading about it (yes, me too). We went to talks, we talked to acquaintances who told us about their experiences with the hospital and we saw that sadly everything fit. Too many routine protocols, too much systematisation, the lack of tact or empathy that sometimes happens in hospitals (either due to lack of time and staff in some cases or lack of retraining in others) made me think that maybe Mireia was not so wrong in wanting to give birth at home.
But even so, I couldn't help but get nervous about the idea. From time to time my fears would come up; "what if something bad happens during the birth?", "what if something happens to Mireia?", "I could never forgive myself"... and so on and so forth. That's why I was quite reluctant at first to the idea of doing it at home. So we came to an agreement. An intermediate solution.
We knew that being first timers, we could end up going to the hospital too soon without having dilated enough, which could lead to us being induced and thus entering into the protocol loop that we wanted to avoid so much. So we decided to look for a midwife who would monitor everything and who would also be with us until it was really time to go to the hospital. That's how we met Imma.
I could say that almost overnight I changed my mind. Thanks to Imma's confidence and the way she transmits it to you, to the way she explains everything to you and solves your doubts, to her meticulousness and organisation, to her closeness and her affection. Thanks to all this we were able to overcome our fears and we managed to have the birth that Mireia and Altea deserved. After a few meetings with her we were convinced that doing it at home with her was what we really wanted.
As well as helping me to overcome my fears, I owe it to her that I was able to enjoy the birth of Altea so much. I can't imagine a better setting to welcome her than the one we had in our flat, where I could feel that I was participating all the time, sure of myself and with the constant feeling that everything I did helped. In the few moments where I could feel insecure, Imma was there to tell me with a gesture or a look that everything was going well, not to worry. There is no way to express the satisfaction of seeing your partner receive your daughter with her own hands, in such an intimate, tender way. Perhaps listening to Imma's voice cracking with emotion at that moment is the best way to express it.
One of the mistakes that someone like me can make is to think that after childbirth everything is done, that childbirth is really the hard part and that what comes after is learning to carry out a daily routine. That childbirth is really the hard part and that what comes after is all about learning to carry out a daily routine. How far from the truth!
I can say without a doubt that the hardest part (at least for what I have experienced) comes in the postpartum period where your daughter needs to eat every 2-3 hours and you can't sleep. Where the first few days you are worried that your daughter is sleeping instead of eating and you know that she needs to gain weight. Where you have to be strong and act as a shield against visits from family and friends so that nothing interferes with the consolidation of breastfeeding and the mother-daughter bond. Where you have to deal with your partner's emotional changes, the paperwork, the failed attempts at going out, the successful outings, the nappies, the wee-wees, the poos... in short: 24 hours - full time. Nobody tells you about this part and how hard it is. And this is where I thank Imma again for all her support. Thanks to her postpartum follow-up, her visits home, her advice, her WhatsApp messages asking how everything is going, her affection and tenderness when dealing with Altea and Mireia... thanks to all of this, the way I have lived the postpartum period has been much calmer, safer and more conscious.
There are two moments with Imma that are engraved in my mind. The first was at Altea's birth, where I felt a bond between us and her. The second, more bittersweet, was the day Mireia was discharged as we knew that this was the end of her visits.
Imma, I can only say that I feel very fortunate and grateful to have had you by my side throughout this process. Thank you very much".

"The arrival of our son Jaudiel in our lives has been a gift ... for several reasons. And one of these is the accompaniment we have received from Imma.
We, as parents, wanted a respectful birth, unhurried, safe, in the intimacy of our home ... The first midwife on the list we had made was Imma. From the very beginning we liked her professionalism and affective proximity. The same evening we confirmed that we wanted her to be our midwife. And I think that this was a thought that stayed with us throughout the whole process of preparation for the birth, the birth and after the birth. Even if our birth ended in hospital and with a caesarean section!
The visits we made to Imma before the 37th week were very enriching. All our doubts and concerns were resolved in those two hours of intimate and pleasant meetings ... we always left satisfied and with homework too!!!!... when we had concerns she always answered us immediately and sent us documentation to read; basically they were contrasted medical studies that reinforced her words.
And then came the long-awaited 40th week. Although I had been looking forward to giving birth since 38 weeks... Some rhythmic and constant contractions appeared, but they were not strong and what we thought was the beginning of labour, stopped the next day.
In week 41 we implemented the protocol that Imma told us: every two days at the hospital to do a Doppler ultrasound and in between visits with her. In other words: one day at the hospital and the next day a visit with Imma, and so on until the birth started... So we went to the San Juan de Deu hospital to ask them to check that everything was OK with Jaudiel. Josep Oriol and I prepared ourselves before going so that everything would go smoothly, as I had read many comments about hospital births and I knew that, at some point, we could be pressured to give up the idea of giving birth at home or staying in hospital because we were in week 41 and had not yet given birth. But despite the pressures we always had someone in Imma who gave us professional advice at all times. The first thing they told us was that I was one week over. I had spent the whole pregnancy explaining to whoever told me that it was impossible, as I had a very exhaustive control of temperature and intimate relations... On the second visit, the relationship with the staff who attended us in the hospital worsened. I felt that they were looking for any little thing to tell me that they had to induce labour. After this visit I collapsed. I was tense and I couldn't give birth like that!!!! Imma came to see me and her words brought me back to my place. And I told my partner that I needed to stand up to these people, because I was feeling small, putting on a good face for all these people when, inside, I felt like telling them four things.
And here I digress ... I fully understand that hospital staff do the best they can and know how, that they have studied a degree and done an internship and that they are the professionals they are thanks to these two factors, mainly. And perhaps this is where we should focus ... add the subject of emotional accompaniment to the patient?
The fact is that on the third hospital visit, yes, at 42 weeks (43 for them), I became empowered and told the doctor who attended us that all we wanted to know was that everything was fine, that we were well informed about where we were and that we had every right to go to the hospital for a medical check-up with ultrasound scans. And then the man told us that the hospital could refuse to treat us. And I told him that we had been informed and that, by law, they were obliged to treat us. I stressed to him that if we had to sign papers releasing them from responsibility that we would do it right then and there. And so we did. But then he told us that the hospital could denounce us and we told him to do what he thought, that we would inform ourselves of our rights, being very clear about our responsibilities. And that's how it turned out. That man, whom we had only met once, who knew nothing about our story, who didn't know us, told us that he would meet with the hospital team and they would decide what to do... I left outraged and at the same time empowered!
And here Imma was also a great help. She informed us that there had been a precedent of a mother who was denounced, at 40-41 weeks and the mossos went to look for her at home to take her to the hospital to induce labour ... the thing is that Imma gave us the telephone number of a lawyer who advised us.
With all this, my partner and I decided to use a natural method that would provoke the first contractions of labour, before there could be a complaint and everything would get worse ...
On the 28th I started with the pre-partum contractions: rhythmic, intense, painful ... With joy, fear and a lot of love all around. Josep Oriol and I were united, very close ... When Imma arrived at home I was shocked to feel her presence, in capital letters, dressed in white. She told us that the girl who was due to give birth after me had also gone into labour and in this case she had to assess which was the most urgent to attend to. I had not dilated a centimetre! Imma left for Sitges ... The next day the contractions continued and I noticed that I had not dilated. Imma wanted to come to see how everything was going. Neck erased and 1 cm dilated. When we heard Jaudiel's heart we felt that something wasn't right, he was having trouble recovering from the contractions. Imma told us that Jaudiel was tired and that we had to go to the hospital for a more exhaustive follow-up. We ruled out San Juan de Deu and decided to go to La Maternidad. Imma accompanied us ...
And from then on everything went wonderfully smoothly. I was immediately attended to, and they found that Jaudiel's heart was indeed having trouble recovering from the contractions. Imma spoke to the doctors and the midwife. I held Josep Oriol by one hand and Imma by the other. I felt pained and safe. At the Maternity Hospital they accompanied us very well. At no time did they judge us, nor did they make any off-color comments, even though I was also in my 43rd week. I felt respected and well informed at all times.
The gynaecologist gave me two options: the first was oxytocin and if the dilatation was not going well I would go for the second option, a caesarean section... Imma was telling me all the time the steps the doctors were taking, the changes in the team and everything that was happening around me... and I think this helped me to concentrate only on my labour. I had a feeling inside me that I shouldn't let too much time pass for Jaudiel to come out because he might have been suffering for a few hours ... At one point when it was just the 3 of us I asked them if we could do a caesarean section straight away because I felt that Jaudiel was tired and I wasn't sure that with the oxytocin he would come out. What if he dies? I thought... But don't think that I was thinking so many things. Now I can decipher them. At that moment it was all sensations and emotions. A few minutes later they were already preparing me for the operating theatre. And Josep Oriol too! Imma stayed in the waiting room... I was super happy! Before going into the operating theatre I remember looking at Josep Oriol and saying to him: darling, we will see Jaudiel very soon! I was so looking forward to it! The pre-op was even fun. I remember feeling the team attending me in a very good mood, making jokes and making me participate. Rosa, the midwife at the hospital also informed me about everything: about the injection they were going to give me in my spine and where Imma and Josep Oriol were; she was getting ready and she would soon arrive to be with me .... a love! I think that's why I remember her name, ...
When I heard Jaudiel's cry I smiled, what a great joy. I still get emotional. And seeing him for the first time, in his father's arms. How beautiful! was the first thing I said when I saw him and held him in my arms....
We were taken to a room and from minute zero Jaudiel latched onto my chest. I felt completely happy, I felt lucky for how we had been treated. And we felt that we had been very lucky because I knew that other people had had bad experiences in a case like ours ... And Imma was always by our side. What more could we ask for !!!!
The gynaecologist spoke to Imma and us and told us that my uterus had more fibroids than we thought it had and that this had made the contractions ineffective ... Jaudiel was invaded by meconium which, fortunately, did not affect him at all.
We stayed two more days in the hospital and Imma came to visit us to see how the breastfeeding was going. And she also visited us at home... The truth is that everything went very smoothly afterwards. Josep Oriol and I already knew what our roles were in those post-partum moments, and this made everything very easy. In a few days Jaudiel was discharged and 10 days later Imma discharged the whole family.
We only have words of thanks for the service that Imma has offered us. We are very happy as a family and we will definitely come back again!

"I have been called brave. I have been called strong. I have been called bold. But I have also been called reckless and reckless. And I have also been called selfish.
And no, I can't stand being called selfish. Selfish for having given birth at home, for having wanted to act brave, for having wanted to prove that I was more of a woman than those who do not give birth at home... For all of this I have been called selfish. For having wanted to put my will and my pride before the safety of my child. For all this I have been called selfish.
And no, I don't feel selfish at all. Because giving birth at home for me was an option that gave my son guarantees. I felt I was giving him what he needed to be born. My peace of mind was his peace of mind. If I was comfortable, he was comfortable to be born. If I felt safe, he would arrive safely. If I was well accompanied, he would arrive well accompanied. No rush, no noise, no pressure.
And so it was. It was not a selfish birth, it was a generous birth accompanied by the best hands in the world and by a person who transmits a fantastic and restorative serenity in the hardest moments.
Thank you so much for being there Imma, giving birth to Cesc with you was spectacular! "

"When you tell people that you want to give birth at home, they usually look surprised, but after talking about it, it doesn't take them more than 30 seconds to see that it is a normal and, above all, comfortable and natural option.
The mother was more inclined not to say it much, I preferred to say it to everyone who asked, and the truth is that the result is good. There is a lack of education in this sense (and above all the inclusion of home birth in the programmes of the mutual insurance companies and/or the SS) but I am convinced that in time it will become a more popular option.
Imma has a strong and determined character and then a great confidence and knowledge, which means that she tells you things as they are at all times. And that is very important to gain confidence with childbirth.
The experience was very good, everything went smoothly, and the best thing (at least for the father) is to have the feeling that a few hours after the birth everything is ready to continue our life with a new little one. In our case, the baby was born at 7 a.m., and by 10 a.m. the whole family was having breakfast together. What a difference from the first one (which we had in hospital), the first few days are long and tiring, and when you get home you still have some time to settle in. The only downside is that at home you have to make the food 😉 "

"One of the reasons that convinced me to give birth at home was meeting Imma Sàrries. With her I felt completely safe, capable of everything and in good hands. Her care during the birth and postpartum was excellent, and her professionalism was impeccable.
Giving birth in a conscious way has been one of the most important experiences of my life. Feeling well accompanied in those moments was essential. With Imma and my partner, it was possible. Thank you very much to both of you. "

"Having our daughter at home allowed me to experience the privilege of participating in a transcendent event. And, despite being in the background, I felt like a relevant actor in our daughter's transition into this world. Imma conveyed her confidence to me at all times and this allowed me to enjoy, despite my insecurities at the time, the birth of our daughter. Thank you very much Imma, I am very happy that you accompanied and guided us in the birth of our daughter. "

"Before I was pregnant I had already had in mind that when the day of my birth came, it would be at home. When the time came to plan my birth, a series of circumstances made us doubt this idea, but, by chance, everything pointed to the fact that we had to contact Imma and that she should be the one to attend our birth. We met her and all our suspicions were confirmed, it had to be her. She gave us an unusual confidence and trust. She is a great professional, with a great vocation who is passionate about what she does, always willing to give knowledge and open to all options, informing without imposing, with humility and clarity, always present and close, making you see that you are capable, both before, during childbirth, in the postpartum and with breastfeeding. Without a doubt, we were not wrong when we decided to have a home birth with Imma, and if we ever have another child she will be the first to know, in fact, she is already part of our family".

"They say that the baby chooses when and how it wants to be born. Bruno chose Imma, I'm sure it was him.
The decision to give birth at home came on its own, first it was an idea without words, then a silent thought, one day I said it out loud and suddenly Imma's name appeared in our lives, and in an unexpected moment between emails from work, I picked up the phone and called her. I remember perfectly the moment, the time, the light, the smell... And the conversation with her: direct, energetic and effective. After three days we would meet.
After the first meeting with her it was clear to me, I wanted to give birth at home and I wanted her to accompany us. The best thing of all was that Agus, my partner, who had never thought of the idea of giving birth at home, came out with the same feeling as me: total security, confidence and enthusiasm to welcome Bruno at home. It was also his decision. Imma told us to think about it, to compare, to look for other midwives, but we didn't want to. We felt it was her. And the adventure began.
All the meetings prior to the birth were essential. We trusted each other more and more. I was always looking forward to the next meeting.
She arrived on her due date four days before her (im)expected delivery date.
At 4 a.m. on 11 October my waters broke. I immediately felt the first contraction unmistakably, I say unmistakably because I always wondered what a contraction would be like, if I would know how to detect it. And after the first one, I had another one every five minutes. We wrote a message to Imma, and she answered instantly ... IT WAS 4 AM! And she was totally available. She called us and after talking to her she decided to come home. She arrived around half past five or six in the morning, I don't really remember the time, I just remember that she arrived very quickly.
It was flawless. She arrived and started to prepare everything, I was only focused on the contractions, she put her hands on my back and pressed every time a contraction came, then I was left alone while she and Agus prepared everything. I didn't worry about anything but doing what I had to do, living through the contractions, resting, breathing. The dining room at home became a cave. I remember warm spots of light, darkness, soft temperature. The labour lasted about eight hours, which felt like two hours. I always felt safe and accompanied. With the total intimacy of living with my partner throughout the birth, and with the security of having an exceptional professional by my side, in silence, supporting us whenever necessary, guiding us when it was convenient. She appeared like an angel, dressed in white, with big blue eyes, always speaking softly and smiling. It was incredible to receive Bruno surrounded by so much peace.
I spent most of the time in the pool, the water was always at the ideal temperature. I know that they were always regulating the temperature, I don't know how or in what way they did it, because I was only giving birth, Imma and Agus were in charge of making sure that everything was as it should be. Imma helped me give birth, she guided me so that everything would be perfect! And everything went better than I could have imagined.
Bruno was born at half past three in the afternoon. I finally gave birth on the sofa. When he was born I put him on top of me and spent almost two hours with him. Then I went to take a shower, the best shower of my life, it felt great. While Agus stayed on the sofa lying on the couch doing skin to skin with Bruno.
Imma didn't leave until Bruno suckled, which was difficult because his tongue had a frenulum and it was hard for him to grasp the nipple. But we did it, Bruno did it thanks to Imma.
Around nine o'clock at night Imma left and it seemed as if nothing had happened in the house, everything was impeccable, she fixed everything, she left a warm cinnamon tea prepared, bottles with infusions to cure me. Everything was in its place, as before, but with an atmosphere of total peace and love. And little Bruno was finally in our arms.
The postpartum support has been excellent. Everyone had told me that postpartum was the worst thing of all. I didn't experience it like that. On the contrary, I was happier than ever. Imma has helped me with breastfeeding, she has solved all our doubts. She was always available. I had a urine infection that she helped to cure relentlessly. I have always felt safe and accompanied. Thanks to her the postpartum period has been a magical stage of this whole adventure. Thanks to her, to Agus for being the best partner and father on the planet and to Bruno for being so smart and learning so fast, everything has been easy and smooth.
We will be eternally grateful to Bruno for choosing Imma. And infinitely grateful to Imma for simply deciding, one day, to train as a midwife to be able to accompany women to give birth at home, which is how we should all be able to give birth! She makes it possible! Imma is passionate about her work, she is the best professional we have ever met, and an incredible person worth knowing! Thank you so much. "

For us, knowing that we had a professional with so much technical knowledge, with so many years of experience as a doula and with so much care for emotional wellbeing, was a real gift. We felt loved, cared for and supervised from a very global point of view, and Imma didn't let even the smallest detail slip away! Always present, always confident, always loving and always rigorous.
Always accompanied by Imma!

"From the first moment I wanted a respectful and humane home birth and your choice of midwife was a great success. You were able to resolve my doubts and fears during the pregnancy and you gave us a lot of reassurance and security once the birth started to such an extent that I was able to laugh at some point between contractions. Knowing that you were by our side, although almost invisible in the darkness of the room, I was able to enjoy a unique experience giving birth in my own way, completely immersed in my world and taking all the time we needed, without rushing, interventions or distractions.
A big hug from all three of us, and thank you for resolving the difficulties at the beginning of breastfeeding".

"Well, let's tell you how it went with Imma: after several midwives told us that "no way, I'm not taking any risks with a previous caesarean and that you live far away, where civilisation doesn't reach", we met Imma, who was not intimidated by anything and understood that it is precisely those who have had a caesarean section who need to give birth the most, something that seemed to us to be elementary school. After listening to her talk and seeing that she described childbirth and the needs of the mother and baby in almost the same way as we did, we said to ourselves "hey, it's going to be with this one, isn't it".
During the visits, Imma explained to us everything that could happen during a birth, all the remote cases, all the possibilities and complications, and how to deal with them. And with each visit we said to each other: "Come on, let's plan the afternoon. Today we'll be with Imma for ten minutes, she told us everything last time". And that's how we were, and every time we met up with her we were two hours late for everything else. In short, if you want information, planning, understanding, knowledge and professionalism, call Imma Sàrries i Zgonc. If not... well, there are people for everything.
In our case, with Imma's help and support, everything went very well during the birth. The preparation took forever, so long that it seemed like we would have to go to hospital, but thanks to her knowledge and experience our son was born at home, so quickly that we didn't even have time to fill the pool, which is what's so cool about home births.
We recommend it to you if you prefer visits with real involvement to the pim-pam-next, and you like respectful, attentive and safe births in your home".

"Giving birth to our daughter with you has been a huge gift. You have given me the security and confidence I needed to be able to go into labour without thinking, and I have seen my body go through the whole process naturally and smoothly... In a way I feel I have healed the fear that was passed down from mother to daughter in my family.
During the birth I felt so well accompanied with the massages, the hands... and at the same time I felt alone moving forward without any interference, totally in my own world.
In the postpartum it was a luxury to have you available at all times. We were able to enjoy a magical postpartum despite the difficulties with breastfeeding. For me you have been like a kind of mother pushing her chicks out of the nest to fly. "

All this accompanied by the best midwife we could choose, an exceptional professional, attentive, compliant, human, perfectionist and a thousand more adjectives that we could find. You are a sun, Imma! An angel! An excellent person who makes every birth special with your help and you get involved in each one as if it were the only one in the world.
Thank you for being the way you are, for transmitting so much confidence, for having everything under control and for helping so many families to fulfil this dream. It was the best decision we have ever made and you made the birth of our daughter one of the most beautiful and special days of our lives. A unique experience that we will never forget!!!! "We would like to thank you, Imma, for being here with us on our journey to bring little Rosie into the world. Without you we couldn't have done it!
Coming from the UK and being the first baby born in Spain, everything was new and very different and you guided me and pointed me in the right direction whenever I needed it.
You showed me ways to combat common pregnancy ailments naturally and you know what? .... It all worked!
You were always there to give me confidence and you helped me regain my confidence when I started to worry about nothing!
As for the midwives, you are without a doubt one of the most professional, warm and efficient I have encountered (and I have met quite a few).
You gave me the courage and strength to keep going when I wanted to give up (with a little help from Mike of course) and that you knew exactly what to do even though the child was looking ahead!!!
You made my birthing experience exceptionally smooth with clear ideas in preparation and then leaving the house as you found it with as little stress as possible for me and Mike... and for that we are grateful!
Plus the addition of a detailed demonstration of the placenta that my children will never forget!!!
The aftercare was fantastic, even for the 4th baby, I still had questions and things related to my recovery that hadn't happened to me before and you knew exactly what to do!
We are eternally grateful, Rosie is here and doing great and you helped make it happen!
We will never forget the experience and if I can ever convince Mike to look for number 5 ...... you will certainly get a phone call !!!
I can't thank you enough !!! !!! "

"Our pregnancy, birth and postpartum have been wonderful and now our daughter is fantastic, happy and smiling. We deeply believe that our daughter is the way she is thanks to the birth we had and the postpartum we chose. Our guide and companion throughout this process, Imma has been a key piece to create our family from the confidence and happiness.
She has empowered us at all times, she has made us feel responsible for our daughter since the pregnancy tests. She has informed us about everything. She is special, she transmits all the confidence of a professional with knowledge but giving you the space to feel respected.
When it comes to childbirth, she knows her place. Close when necessary and respecting the couple's space and intimacy when the couple needs it. She makes you feel that it is you who are giving birth, that it is your moment and that you make the decisions.
As for the postpartum period, her confidence in us as mothers made us trust in ourselves. Her support in moments of weakness was essential.
Imma, thank you for helping us to believe that this whole process was simple and natural and that we were ready. It has been a magical start to a new life! A hug. "

"Someone who gave birth at home told me: "everyone thinks that the moment you give birth at home is the peak of the experience, but it is not. The truth is that the strength you feel when you pass the threshold of pregnancy by holding your child in your own hands keeps growing inside you and always goes on growing. "
It is true, three months later, the experience of my birth is still growing inside me. And the certainty that giving birth at home with Imma was the best decision we could have made.
Life is full of triangles that connect. Eleven years ago I read a contra in La Vanguardia that would change the way I looked at childbirth, change my childbirth itself and by default my life. I read an interview with Michel Odent. I remember reading it and thinking, "aha... this makes sense, human childbirth can also happen without a whole armamentarium of medical instruments and interventions". I stored Michel's name to come back to him the day I got pregnant and went to give birth at his clinic. And so I did. In March last year (2016) I got pregnant, and while interviewing a doula in Los Angeles, which is where we live, she told me that Michel was going to be in LA that week giving a seminar. So I didn't hesitate and attended Michel's workshop. It was incredible to be able to receive all that information in person, but my great concern remained unresolved, as Michel no longer had the clinic in France and I did not know anyone in Spain who shared his vision. I thought who better than Michel Odent himself to ask for advice on where or with whom to give birth, if I was going to give birth in Spain. Michel told me that he had worked with a Spanish midwife, and that he knew that after working in England she had not long ago returned to Spain, hopefully to Barcelona, Imma.
I contacted Imma, and we did a skype interview. My husband and I were still very green, and uneasy about the possible options open to us in Spain. Although I have private insurance, a little research revealed that the large private centres in Barcelona are far from guaranteeing a physiological birth. We spoke with Imma for more than an hour, and when we hung up, we were both calm, at peace and knew that we had found the person who would accompany us in one of the most decisive moments of our lives. Imma first and foremost gave us security, she spoke to us with great clarity and frankness, something we had never encountered before. She listened to us and never judged us, she always gives you a choice between the different options. Above all she makes it clear that decision after decision you choose the path you want the birth of your child to take.
Without going into details about my birth I would like to share a couple of facts that I think will make it very clear why Imma was our best decision, and how different our experience could have been without a doubt:
My water broke just at the border of not being considered premature. We clung to the fact that I had just passed my due date like a castaway to a life preserver. The day my waters broke I had no contractions, it was two days before the contractions started to come tentatively. Imma suggested I take castor oil if I wanted to help me go into labour and not keep waiting. I kept calm for the first two days but when I became the 5% of pregnant women who didn't go into labour 48 hours after their waters broke, I decided it was better to try the oil than to start stressing. Because stress, in labour, is the worst enemy.
I tried the oil and that same evening I received my first contractions almost with a welcome party! It meant that I didn't have to go to hospital. The birth took its course. It was an incredible journey and I look back on it happily with my husband. A home birth, where I saw my daughter being born peacefully with her eyes open and eager to start breastfeeding. Breastfeeding started within minutes of giving birth and has continued without any problems or difficulties during all this time (she is now almost 4 months old). I came out of the birth calm, without stitches or episiotomy, feeling respected, supported and loved. Above all, knowing that both my daughter and I have been masters of the experience.
The picture would have been very different in a hospital. They would have reminded me that I was just past my due date for being considered premature. As I had no contractions in the first 48 hours, in a hospital they would have induced me by protocol. And who knows... I probably would have ended up with a major intervention, a caesarean section.
So the decision to hire Imma, which may seem like just another decision to go to prenatal yoga classes... is not at all. It is transcendental and will be with us all our lives".

"I only have one word for you, Imma: thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you for doing the work you do, for doing it with passion, rigour, professionalism, understanding and affection... thank you for having made the best birth possible for our son! Giving birth at home with your assistance has been one of the best decisions of my life! The preparation for the birth has been enriching and has made us gain confidence, the birth respected, intimate and conscious, and the postpartum accompanied, with the necessary attention and esteem. It was wonderful!

"But after my first visit with Imma, all my fears and doubts vanished and it was clear to me that everything would be fine with her. Her explanations and her experience make you immediately realise that giving birth at home is not a madness or a whim, it really is a decision that you have to make, and that it is worth making. "

"Meeting this incredible woman, Imma Sarries, led me to discover the beauty and power of home birth, the trust in nature and the power of my own body... unforgettable experiences. We have had two children and two home births, accompanied and supported by her respectful and tender presence.
She is a professional of the highest level who always has precise answers to the needs of a woman expecting a child, whether it be concrete things in the medical field, psychological support during pregnancy or accompanying the birth, with massages, or simply guiding in a very gentle way through what is the great adventure of bringing a child into this world.
My children were born at home, serene and happy. That is priceless. It is the greatest gift one can give. I will never forget your help and presence.
very fortunate to have met her and to have been able to cross that "deep and unknown ocean" that is pregnancy and childbirth with a guardian angel by her side, like Imma Sarries...

"Imma is a great professional and an extraordinary person, authentic and with a big heart. From the first day both my husband and I connected with her and on the day of the birth she exceeded all my expectations.
The birth was very quick and Imma with her angel hands made me hardly feel the contractions. Her accompaniment was unbeatable, respectful, very loving and with great professionalism. We had Milán at home in our dining room and it was very emotional. I can only say of this unique and unforgettable experience, that Imma's presence gave us absolute peace of mind at all times knowing that we were in good hands and that with her, everything was going to be fine and that it was going to be as magical an experience as it was. Imma arrived in the early hours of 29 October 2015 and within two hours Milán was born, with a naturalness and beauty that I cannot express in words.
I feel immensely grateful that the infinite has placed Imma in our path and that we have been able to live this special moment with her and thanks to her. My experience of giving birth at home with Imma has left an indelible mark on my heart. If you want to live an experience like this, don't hesitate to give birth with Inma. Thank you Imma, thank you a thousand times!!!! "

"My intuition told me, before I met Imma, that she would be the person to help us have the birth at home. I read her CV and the testimonials and I loved everything. I still wasn't sure if we were going to do it at home or in hospital (it was my first pregnancy), and I needed information from someone like her. After the first chat I had it clear, well, we had it clear, because my partner, who was even more unfamiliar with this whole world, ended up more convinced than I was. She gave us a lot of confidence and security, a crack in her field. All doubts resolved, and a lot of learning ahead. You can tell that her work is her life, she is passionate about it, and she transmits that passion in the form of knowledge, security and empathy.
I experienced my birth in a very wild way. The birth itself was relatively quick, but the pre-labour was not. After a day with irregular contractions, Imma, with just one sentence, helped me to click. She is a person who knows how to say what she needs to say at any given moment, she knows when to keep quiet (especially during labour when she hardly said anything when I was in my contraction surges) or when to call you because you are getting lost in the pain, as happened to me at some points. Discreet and yet very present, I knew she was there and that was all I needed to let go and trust fully. I felt respected at all times, and both myself and my partner owe her thanks for the gift of the experience of giving birth at home. Undoubtedly the most powerful, beautiful and intense of our lives.
She was also a key figure during the first days of the postpartum period, as my moods were low and I didn't know what was happening to me. Her explanations, affection and concern for how we were doing helped us to get through it faster than I could have ever imagined. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants a respectful birth. Who knows, maybe one day we will repeat!!! "

Your uterus contracts more and more energetically, as if pushed by an inexorable and invisible clock. Our time of being unique, little whale, is gently running out.
I deeply feel the call of the water. We fill the bathtub with warm water, turn off the light and light an incense.
Imma arrives, little fairy, she touches our belly and gives us serenity and peace, as an astrolabe that will guide us, reading stars, in this our oceanic journey. "

"As a doctor I was nervous about my wife's wish to have a natural home birth (my speciality as a trauma surgeon did not help at all...). After the first meeting with Imma I knew she was the right person to help my wife with her wish, without all my hair turning grey. Her competence, her systematic approach, covering all eventualities, balanced with her loving attitude and empathy made her the perfect person for the job. The home birth experience was a wonder for all of us ... Thank you Imma! "

"For many years I didn't want to have children. But I had no doubts. If I had had one, it would have been with a home birth. When I became pregnant I didn't hesitate either: it would be with Imma Sàrries. Although she did everything she could to get me to see other midwives, I didn't see any other. And I wasn't wrong at all. From the first visit Imma was the person I needed to meet: direct, clear, professional and confident in her knowledge. Also available and, when necessary, tender and close.
The pregnancy went very well and at no time did we think that we were not on the right track. Of course, we had doubts, but Imma's active presence helped us to find the answers on our own.
And I was so calm when I went into labour that that day, with advanced contractions, I told her: don't worry, don't come yet, it's a long way off. She came on her own after a while. I have no adjectives to describe those hours. I will only say that they were a concentrate of self-improvement. Believing that you can't do any more and seeing that you can, and going further too. And Imma always by my side, respectfully and silently, a discreet and fundamental presence in every contraction and every moment.
I felt respected, accompanied, listened to and supported.
The accompaniment during the postpartum period was equally fundamental, a precious and very rare help nowadays. And I am sure it contributed especially to the very good and carefree relationship I have with our son.
Thank you Imma. "

"When I met Imma I knew she was the midwife I was looking for. Convinced of giving birth at home, all the meetings we had during the pregnancy gave me the strength, information and peace of mind to be able to tell my family and friends about it without them getting their hands in their heads, and based on the scientific evidence it was a completely safe option. The birth support was wonderful, perfect, and Lúa was born at home, in a warm, respectful and loving environment. The baby girl had a twist in her cord so I couldn't pick her up when I left, Imma took her in to remove the twist and handed her over to me. I really like the fact that the first hands that held my baby girl were those of a woman with as much light as she has. The postpartum accompaniment, for me, has been essential and a ten, in all aspects. I have felt accompanied, listened to, cared for, respected and loved. It has helped me to feel capable of doing it, and now that almost two months have passed, I look back and reaffirm that I chose the best possible option. Thank you for everything, Imma !!!! "

"Imma has been everything a pregnant woman expects from her midwife, and everything a father-to-be could never imagine from a midwife. She responds perfectly to any difficulties that may arise before, during and after the birth".

"About two years ago you accompanied us during the birth of our second son Guerau. On that occasion we could not finish the experience at home as we had hoped. It was too long and I couldn't do it anymore... Guerau was born in the hospital.
The day we arrived home, as soon as we entered, I felt everything we had experienced there a few days before and I was moved. Then I realised that all those hours spent at home had not been in vain. If I became pregnant again, one of the first people I would call would be you... you would be with us again!
And so it was. When Guerau was not yet two years old, life surprised us with the arrival of another baby. I really wanted to tell you the news... we wanted you to join us again. I was happy to have you close to us again.
And the day arrived, after a long but calm labour, the moment of birth arrived and this time we made it. Teo was born in the water, still with the bag, after a fluid and intimate birth. You and Jordi were key ... the words, silences, warm hands, presence, respect, love ... gave me enough strength to live this experience with the calm, security and confidence necessary to receive Teo in the most serene, respectful and loving way I could have ever imagined.
Thank you so much Imma! We love you, and you are already part of our lives !!!!

"The pre-partum visits helped us to become aware of the gift we had in our hands, we were facing the best midwife we could find, and with the certainty that we had learnt the theory, thanks to the clarity of your explanations. Now we had to put it into practice.
In spite of not being able to give birth at home (Joan was born at 35 weeks), we were lucky that you were able to be with us, for us you carried the birth, you helped us to bring Joan into this world, from the Maternity Hospital you did little, apart from spoiling the expulsion ... The encouragement you gave me, your confidence in me, your massages and your caresses were everything at that moment. We can never thank you enough. Thank you for being there!
And post-partum ... we will always remember those weeks of syringes, the first step for Juan to latch on to my breast with desire and strength.
There are no words ... and now that I remember it, my eyes are watering. We will miss you! Hope to see you soon! And who knows, maybe we can finally set up the bathtub in the dining room 😉 We will always carry you in our hearts".

"This is my first home birth experience (actually my first birth), and I am so happy and grateful to be so fortunate to have you around to take care of me before, during and after the birth of my son.
Everything that could happen, and what might be needed: resources, equipment, medication etc., was very well prepared. I really felt that we were prepared for anything that could happen, which is very important for an expectant mother.
You are professional, sincere, incredibly loving and caring, and educated in so many different areas of life, which made the experience of being pregnant and giving birth a walk in the park.

"Dear Imma, I so agree with what other parents say .... you are the perfect mix of sensitivity, tenderness, accompaniment, esteem, professionalism, rationality and seriousness.
After a medicalised and mistreated birth with our first daughter, and an unnecessary caesarean section with our second child, it was clear to us that Marta, our third daughter, would be born under different conditions.
I did the Mothers Doules training about 4-5 years ago, and I think it was meant to be to meet you, apart from all the positive and healing experience it was for me. You had to be the one to accompany us in this important moment and you made the whole family fall in love with your way of being and doing!
Thank you, a thousand thanks Imma for everything we have been able to experience, the home birth in the pool, the loving pre-birth and the postpartum even more loving and respectful if possible.
It was an "intense" birth of only 4 hours, and the baby weighed 4050gr with a "very big head", you said, and the placenta too !!!! After a few days I could no longer remember the pain, I only have the memory for the rest of my life of holding my daughter in my arms before she was born, and I have hardly been separated from her since.
As for my husband, Quim, he says that once he has lived "he would recommend it to everyone", and it has been a very positive experience. My 10-year-old daughter says she wants to give birth at home when she becomes a mother, ... but this is a story that will be written in a still distant future.
Imma, we love you very much and you are very present in our lives. Farewell.

"My partner and I went to meet Imma when we were only a few weeks pregnant with our second daughter. It was very important for me to be able to choose our midwife ahead of time, to be able to meet more than one to see how I felt. Imma was the first and the last. After a long interview, we walked out the door and Albert said to me... We are not looking any more, are we? We found her... So we cancelled all the other interviews, we already had a midwife!
The fact that we met so early meant that we saw each other many times during the pregnancy, every 4 weeks or so. We gained confidence, I felt comfortable and well accompanied. His support was fundamental in the third trimester when I was told by ultrasound that our daughter was macrosomic, percentile 95, they began to threaten me with inductions, they scheduled another ultrasound at 3 weeks and told me again that she weighed close to 4 kg. They wanted to send me to High Risk Obstetrics, endocrinologist, correas..... Imma and the midwife at the CAP, touching my belly, told me that the baby was totally normal, but the threat, having to argue with everyone to make them respect my wishes..... was not the right time. I spoke to Imma, she reaffirmed what I wanted and what I didn't want and I felt strong and she made me regain my strength. The decision not to go back to the CAP or the hospital came to me on my own. I had all the tests we needed, the ultrasound, the analyses, the streptococcus and the confidence that everything would follow the course it was supposed to follow.
The end of the pregnancy was heavy, with a 3 and a half year old girl around, trips up and down to school, the park, carnival, school parties ... Imma giving encouragement, saying it's normal, it's heavy; what I needed to hear. And so the days went by and the day came, in week 40 and 3 days at 3 in the morning I felt a contraction, they were irregular until 4. At 4 I woke Albert up and at 5 something we called Imma because the contractions were every 4 minutes. At 5:30 we had her at home, a strong, discreet, confident presence. Dressed completely in white, holding me when I needed it, giving me water, massages, almost without words, but present, just what I wanted and needed. A very strong team with Albert, one and the other accompanied me contraction after contraction. Imma was pointing, listening to Elsa, few words. At 7 o'clock more or less the expulsion started, Imma became more present. Once the head came out (I was on my knees on the floor holding my partner) she told me to turn around and the next contraction you can receive it, I said, I can't turn around, I'm tired, I'm too lazy, she insisted, and as I had never done it in anything since we had met, when Elsa was no bigger than a pea, I listened to her.... I was half turned between her and Albert and at the next contraction Elsa came out of my body received by my own hands ... Something I can't thank Imma enough for, a wonderful memory, the best transition for my little girl. The rest joy, emotion, the placenta, the perineum check, infusions and breakfast.
The postpartum period, with some painful cracks, Imma, a breastfeeding consultant, was providential in helping me, changing positions, accompanying me, and despite the discomfort, they were resolved. The last postpartum visit we watched her leave with sadness, one cycle was closing and another was beginning.
I recommend her a thousand times, with my eyes closed. If you have any doubts, come and meet her, maybe you won't need to see any other midwife! Thank you Imma for accompanying us in this unique moment, you will always be part of the family! "

"For us it was very important to have a respectful birth and to be in good hands. We chose Imma after looking at several options and the result has been excellent. Despite not being able to end up having the birth we dreamed of, a natural birth at home, and ending up with a caesarean section with forceps beforehand because little Elia would not come out, we are very happy. Imma accompanied us throughout the birth, during the more than 42 weeks of waiting, during the whole process of preparation for the previous weeks, during the doubts and fears of a first birth, ... We wanted a good memory of the birth of our daughter and thanks to the professionalism and empathy, the security and sensitivity of Imma, we have been able to have it. Thank you very much for letting us give our opinion and choose, for accompanying us in one of the most important moments, if not the most important moment of our lives. We will continue to toast with cava! "

"When we found out we were expecting a baby, we were overjoyed, but at the same time we had an endless barrage of questions about pregnancy, childbirth and parenting. One of the biggest questions we asked ourselves was how we wanted to welcome our baby. When we began to seriously contemplate the option of home birth we felt a mixture of "we know it's the happiest option for us" and a lot of fear due to lack of knowledge and social pressure. We immediately contacted you and as soon as we met you in person we knew for sure that you were the person we were looking for, it couldn't be anyone else. From that first visit until the day we were discharged, you have accompanied us in every way: you have been our reference in medical matters, you have been our friend, you have solved all our doubts, you have supported us at all times when we have felt lost and alone?
Imma, it is clear that you love your profession, you work with Love. You represent the perfect mix of affection, understanding and firmness, which in our case has allowed us to feel accompanied with a lot of warmth but always with the security of having a person who says things clearly and knows what she is doing. When you explain things you always base yourself on science, but in your dealings you convey a closeness and humanity that is often hard to find.
Childbirth was a magical, unrepeatable and unforgettable experience. All women should be able to experience a home birth because it is an experience that changes you forever. After giving birth I will never be the same person again because I have experienced indescribable sensations. As a person in general I feel complete and more confident in life, it has even changed my concept of pain. As a woman I have been able to reinforce my femininity and fully experience my most animal instincts. As a couple, I believe that experiencing childbirth in such a natural and spontaneous way brings us closer together. The fact that the father can actively participate in the birth of his baby also allows him to create a very special bond with the child from the very beginning.
We both felt free, capable, involved in the decision making and active members in the whole process. Now we can safely say that counting on you for the birth of Lúa is one of the best decisions we have made. I can assure you that, whether we meet again or not, I will never forget what you have done for the three of us.
Thank you for bringing out the best in us. "

"We met Imma through Clara Vergés, from the Mares Doules association. I was 32 weeks pregnant. It was my second pregnancy. After a first birth in the private healthcare system where I had been treated with contempt and without any consideration, ending after an attempted induction, with an emergency caesarean section, I realised that the second pregnancy was going to end in the same way. My gynaecologist in the middle of my pregnancy began to make me very suspicious, and did not attend to any of my wishes for the birth. That was when, in the midst of anguish and nerves, I decided that I had to make a change and I had to try to find a way to make my birth as humanised as possible so that I could give birth as a woman.
Meeting Imma was the best thing that could have happened to us. The close treatment, the sincerity with which she speaks, the confidence with which she talks about her profession and the confidence she transmits to you, the trust, affection and affection with which she treats you, her availability 24 hours a day, the knowledge that she is always there and that you are in good hands and that she will not let you down are some of the many traits that define her. I don't have enough words to express the gratitude I feel towards her. I can only say that midwives like her do not exist and to have her as a midwife is to be in the best possible hands. She is a person who feels her profession and lives it intensely, always seeking excellence in what she does.
At first I hired her to accompany me to the hospital to give birth, but after a process of learning about childbirth, helping me to get to know my body, my possibilities and making me feel like a woman, and taking away the very distressing fears I had from my first birth, I decided that the best way to welcome my daughter was at home, in a quiet, close environment, in confidence and with the security of having Imma and my husband by my side. Everything went very well. The birth was very long and the pain and the wait to see my daughter's little face is something no one can take away from me, but I gave birth with dignity, with affection, being able to do skin to skin, being able to cut the umbilical cord once all the blood had passed to the baby, being able to breastfeed the minute my daughter was born.
I can't ask for more. Thank you very much Imma for making me feel like a Person, Woman and Mother. Thank you very much for having always been by my side when I needed you".

"Alex was clear from the first time we met you. "We'll see more midwives if you want, but it will be Imma," he told me. And so it was ... the best choice of our lives. We wouldn't have made it without you.
You accompanied us at all times and gave us the strength and security to overcome all the obstacles when others (professionals, family members, etc...) tried to dissuade us from trying a home birth after a previous caesarean section.
You, on the other hand, made us believe that we could do it .... so much that during the birth we were not afraid. We never doubted at any moment, even though it was long and intense, we knew we would make it.
Thank you for not giving up, thank you for your strength, love and care. And above all, thank you for guiding us through the most exciting time of our lives.

"Imma Sàrries has been a gift that life has put in our way to live a dream of childbirth, in which our first baby, Oliver, was born. It has been a magical experience as we could never have imagined. Imma has given us security throughout the pregnancy, tranquility, generosity and love. She has answered all our questions and has listened to us and supported us in everything that worried us. The birth has been the result of a beautiful journey that we have lived with her, ending with a very happy outcome. We could never have imagined the connection and trust that this excellent professional has inspired in us. The birth flowed like a river and we are sure that it was possible thanks to the peace of mind we felt bringing our baby into the world with Imma, we knew we were in good hands. In the face of the obstacles that have arisen in the postpartum period, Imma has supported us like a mother who loves unconditionally, making us reflect in difficult moments, listening to us, respecting us and valuing our learning.
There are no words to describe our gratitude to this excellent person, friend and professional. It has been a great life learning and transforming experience. We love you very much Imma, you will always be in our life and in Oliver's".

"Imma is an excellent midwife. Not only extremely professional, but also of a human quality that far exceeds the expectations of any woman.
One of the things that was attractive to us when deciding on her was that she had received specific training for home births (for me, being a doctor, this was quite decisive).
During the birth, in the event of any possibility of risk, she had a very clear protocol for action, and that made us feel very safe. She was also very attentive to our more subtle emotional needs before, during and after the birth, making everything flow as smoothly as possible.
We had a very complicated breastfeeding. Imma, apart from being an expert on the subject, accompanied us until the problem was completely solved. My baby was almost a month and a half old when she discharged us (and I'm sure she would have stayed with us longer if necessary!).
In short, we are delighted with the attention we have received, and we don't think there is anyone more qualified than Imma".

With the clarity and transparency that characterises her, with the utmost respect and informing us at all times of all the possible options available to us when complications arose in order to allow us to choose.
She had no shortage of words of encouragement and solutions to be able to go ahead with the project of being born in our home; although my history was becoming entangled at times. She gave strength to my hormones, which in the end danced alone with the fears instilled in me by other ""professionals"" (double quotation marks...no words) in the health sector. Imma and Ferran (my partner) brought me closer to my path when I went astray.
And in the end, when you are clear about what you want and you fight for it, if you surround yourself with good people to help you, everything works out well, even if there are last minute complications.
Imma introduced us to Loida, a lovely doula who would take care of Genís, our eldest son, when the time came. She was able to enjoy and help with the birth and pick up Genís from school... we are eternally grateful for her human qualities.
The birth lasted four hours. Quick, yes, but also intense. Ariel came with shoulder dystocia. Her shoulder got stuck in my pelvis. Imma did not hesitate. She performed the manoeuvre that would leave us both intact, and trusting her completely, as she doesn't allow herself a single mistake; she helped me to deliver Ariel... with a very happy ending.
Imma you are a gift.
Thank you for this experience. Something will stay with you forever. "

"I can only thank you for everything you have given us, for the security, the tranquillity, the peace, the confidence, the encouragement, and I can't imagine a better reception for Aniol. Thank you for knowing what he needed at every moment, for the looks, the words, the discreet but strong presence. Thank you for accompanying us on this precious journey and helping us to live Aniol's arrival with peace and respect, thank you, thank you, thank you and more thank you! "

"I close my eyes, the familiar smell of the log, which burns slowly but surely, the warmth of the fireplace and the playful light of its flames, songs and rhythmic breathing, which delicately join the cries of effort of the mother who awaits her fruit, with love, passion, tenderness and respect, and these are the words that describe the experience that you have helped us to live forever ... thank you. "There is a dim light on in my room, as I go into labour to receive my daughter... Suddenly an angel in white illuminates my being, I feel safe, confident and thankful for being a woman. I keep walking, and I read:
"the wonderful thing about dreams is that sometimes they happen".
written at the head of my bed, I stand up, here comes another contraction... I feel relief when "my" angel rests her hands on my lower back, her sound, her breathing, now I am with you and now I blur across the room... "I should drink water", I open my eyes and see a bottle-shaped water fountain that "my" angel brings me without having to speak... The moment has arrived, the heartbeat accelerates... "not here, it would be better in the room"...
"It ends the same way it begins..."
Thank you Imma, for being "my angel" to make the most wonderful dream of my life come true".

"After visiting several midwives for my home birth, we went to see Imma, it was love at first sight, we knew she would be the one to help us deliver Luc.
We fell in love with her, her words, her respect and affection during the pregnancy. At the time of the birth, she was unbeatable, 10 out of 10....at no time, and I mean at no time, did I feel afraid to be at home. I knew I was with a professional and that gave me confidence and strength to bring my baby into my arms.
I would repeat the experience 100 times and I would always choose you Imma.
We will never have enough words to thank you for how happy you made us feel. 1000 thanks for everything !!!

"As a father for as long as I can remember, it was clear to me that on the day of my birth I did not want to leave my wife and child alone, I did not know if it would be possible, nor if what I wanted could really be done, but it made me suffer not to be there. With information you learn that you don't have to leave her, although not everyone tells you that. Imma explained to us that in the hospital we should also be respected... and I don't know if everyone knows that... It is important to be able to choose and we chose to do it at home with Imma. (The first day we met her, when we left her house, my wife and I looked at each other and said "this is her", we had met more than five midwives, but it was her) and the truth is the best decision we have ever made. As a father, I was informed of everything at all times, accompanied at all times, and what I wanted was always respected. I am infinitely grateful for the experience I have been able to live, I would not change it for anything. Infinite thanks Imma !!! "

"Dear Imma ,
I feel very fortunate to have had you with me during the birth of my second daughter. You guided me in a wonderful way throughout the whole process. At every moment I felt a perfect synchronicity between what I felt I needed and the help you gave me. I admire the amount of resources you have to help the birth go smoothly; the different positions, the breathing so as not to let the pain get the better of me, the support of your hands on my lower back during each contraction, the push to get me through each stage of the birth, etc... I am very lucky to have enjoyed this total attention and thank you for having made childbirth a unique and beautiful experience. I hope to have you as my midwife if I get pregnant again! You are without a doubt unbeatable in your craft and contribute to women feeling capable of having children and being mothers through their bodies and potential. With much gratitude . "

"Every woman should be able to give birth in privacy and respect. All women should be able to give birth unhurriedly, without unnecessary interventions and without fear, only then will we be able to give birth in happy and loving births.
But the reality is that not all the professionals who attend us look after these needs and many of us suffer "non-traumatic" or even traumatic births. We should not settle for a "non-traumatic" birth, we should not settle for our child to be healthy. That is why many of us make decisions that may seem extreme (to some people). That is why some of us prefer the warmth of our home to welcome our children.
I had an unforgettable experience of which I am very proud and very happy, I wouldn't trade it for all the gold in the world. I gave birth to my little daughter in my living room in the birthing pool, just as I had imagined it in my mind and in my heart. It was a romantic, peaceful and beautiful birth. "What a great privilege to meet Imma! We are very happy and get excited every time we think about the day of the birth.
Imma accompanied us throughout our pregnancy, birth and postpartum in a respectful, warm, affectionate, sensitive and firm manner, with great rigour and professionalism. It was what we wanted: a professional who would guide us through all our questions and provide us with all the information we needed to make a free decision at all times.
Imma thank you for being by our side on the most important day of our life, thank you for offering us your hands, thank you for your discreet presence that gave us a lot of security and the intimacy we wanted, Thank you!"

"For me the hardest thing of all was not the birth. The hardest thing was just before. I was already due and my daughter showed no signs of wanting to come out. The days went by and soon we were at 42 weeks.
The pressure of the hospital to provoke me to give birth, the lack of humanity of the doctors who attended me, together with the threats I received, will make these 15 days remain engraved in my memory forever. And this is when Imma helped me the most, because of her understanding, the calm and peace she gave me, the strength she gave me, but above all, above all, a detail that I liked very much was the respect she showed me.
When I told her that I couldn't take it any more and that if I didn't go into labour in 3 days I would go and have it induced, I remember her replying: "Whatever you decide is fine. It is your decision, your birth, your baby. And I support you whatever you decide". It says a lot about her, I think. I was frustrated, I felt guilty and a bad mother for giving in to external pressures. I couldn't believe that I had finally fallen into the trap of fear. Her words comforted me. It made me feel good to see things differently. And I don't know if I relaxed then or if it was just time, but that day, at 42 weeks plus 1 day, my daughter decided to come into the world. It was a very good and quick birth. Textbook, as some would say. And I am very happy that in the end it turned out that way. Respecting her time, respecting my body, at home, she and I working together for a common goal. Thank you Imma. "

"Our home birth was neither easy nor quick: Quirze was born in the occipito-posterior cephalic position after 84 hours of water breaking. It was a trial by fire in many ways: for me as a woman, as a mother, as a mothering mammal; for us as a couple and as incipient parents; and for our son it was the trial by fire that brought him to life.
It was not easy for Imma either, but she proved to us that she was the midwife who could face and accompany us through this hard and extraordinary experience. She helped us to face the fear of making the hard decision of whether to stay at home or go to the hospital (how easy it is for others to decide for you and thus relieve you of the responsibility and fear that goes with it! ) She allowed and respected with love and patience the time that both I and my son needed to become a new differentiated being, he as a son, I as a mother. To give birth and to be born, a transcendent event that Imma treats with the delicacy and professionalism that it requires as such.
Imma, we will be eternally grateful to you for helping us to bring our son into the world, for doing it in a non-traumatic way, and for allowing love and respect to become part of his DNA. Without you he would be different, because the traumatic birth that awaited us in the hospital would have changed his character, his personality and the depths of his soul. From the bottom of my heart, "

"Imma, I am very happy about that talk at the civic centre, it was decisive in making it clear to me that if I had a third child I would have one at home. This decision has been a very important step in the process from the birth of Pau (the eldest) to Rut (the youngest), in this process we have had to look for answers to our concerns, because very often the more "conventional" answers and ways of doing things did not work for us.
This pregnancy, birth and postpartum has nothing to do with what I had experienced before. Throughout the whole process I felt safe and confident, I had no fear or doubts, I knew that we were doing what was best for our daughter and also for us, and that respecting our rhythms we would have a fantastic physiological birth. This together with your support and professionalism guaranteed success.
We are left with the tranquility of our home, with what I laughed despite the contractions on the couch, with the moment of being able to hold our daughter, with the "placenta class" that you did for us, with being able to sleep in my bed, oh, how different from the hospital! With the attention during the post birth (the phone calls), the fact of knowing that if we needed it you would come (this gave us a lot of confidence, we were not alone, we could count on your support), and with the face of Pau and Nuria the day after the birth, when they got out of bed to go to school, as always, but with a little sister!
I recommend the experience. In the talk you said that a woman should give birth where she feels most safe and confident and I think no hospital can make me feel better than at home. Thank you! "

"Everything we had hoped for during the birth of our son was more than fulfilled: we felt very confident at all times, respected and loved.
Imma proposed alternatives (at the time of delivery) that made us feel more comfortable and that worked perfectly.
We are satisfied and happy to have shared this experience with you, Imma, who has given us so much awareness, confidence and love. Without you such a beautiful birth would not have been possible, nor would it have been so easy (taking into account Madaix's weight of 4,700gr) that it could have been much more difficult.
You have been our light before, during and after childbirth.
For us it has been a privilege to have you as a midwife, you have been what I was looking for and thought existed, all in one .
You will always be in our hearts. We will never forget you.

"Since I became pregnant I knew that Imma was going to be my midwife as this time it would be a home birth. The pregnancy has been wonderful, a pleasure, without any complications or worries, Fanis made everything easy and Imma was there all the time. And one hot August day I woke up and started to lose water. I knew the day had come! But the contractions didn't start until the evening, I was a bit stressed because I was positive for streptococcus and I had decided not to take antibiotics. I remember that I was alone at home and after a telephone conversation we had with Imma in which she told me that I could not spend more than 18 hours with my waters broken and recommended that I go and get the antibiotics, I started to cry a lot. I spoke to Fanis and told her that she would have to come now, because we had come such a beautiful way for it to be ruined in the end! And the contractions started to get more intense. We called Imma and she soon arrived. I went into my cave and never came out again, the contractions became more and more intense. I felt the presence of Imma who was standing next to me silently. I felt that my partner was calm (he later confessed to me that he saw Imma so calm that he felt calm too), which gave me a lot of peace in spite of the strong contractions. I remember only one moment when I asked Imma if there was still time left before the deadline for the antibiotic and with a smile she told me that there was still time left. The contractions were increasing, everything was going very smoothly and at some point I felt that my body was asking me to push. I didn't say anything but Imma detected the change and asked me if I wanted to change position and put me on the sofa next to her. I started to push and I felt that I was getting closer and closer to hold my baby. I pushed and Imma guided me until at some point I remember she told me to hold your baby, then I got up, I was on all fours and I took Fanis out! An unforgettable moment, a moment where time stopped! Imma left us alone to get to know each other and then she was present for the placental abruption. It was a wonderful experience and our family is very grateful to Imma! Thank you from my heart!

"...In reality, what a woman needs during this period, much more than vitamins and warnings, is serenity and calm; the certainty that she has her own resources to help her child during pregnancy to arrive healthy and happy in our world.
What is certain is that if you have a wise and sweet guide who accompanies you and who smoothes your way through the labyrinth of new and unexpected emotions and sensations - both positive and negative - it is much easier to connect with yourself...
Imma for me is the person who knew how to accompany me in this way....
He has the perfect blend of professional competence and precision in parallel with a very high level of intuition. She always (but always!) knew how to say a phrase at some point in the conversation that, as if by magic, put everything in its place and everything fell into place. And so during the months before the birth, I had the feeling of being prepared and calm. The same thing happened with my partner.
Bach said in one of his letters that playing the piano is very easy - you just have to strike the right key at the right time with the right finger and the right weight. Well, it's a bit like that...
Also her sense of humour, the fact that she makes things feel lighter... and at a given moment nothing seems impossible, although it is still a challenge. On the other hand, she was always very honest, in the sense that she didn't try to diminish the impact of things or their importance, which made me (and my partner too) feel more and more responsible for my actions and my decisions, favouring our autonomy.
The resources he has were very important... in the most difficult moments for me, he knew how to observe and propose one thing or another, listen to my voice and accompany me in the most beneficial way for me... Also with a quick reaction, always in the present moment...
One important thing: the total trust I felt towards her. I knew on a very intuitive level that we were tremendously linked at that moment.
And the truth is that she was a kind of guardian angel: always by my side, always accompanying me, never invasive, never absent. Always strong and sweet (as I imagine guardian angels to be), because I already know one (one!), I even have her mobile, lucky me!

"Despite being my third birth, Imma's contribution was very important and special for the birth of our son Genís.
Imma is a 3 in 1. During the birth and after the birth she is a midwife, doula and friend. Once it was all over, there was no sign of labour at home, except for me with my baby on my chest on the sofa. During labour she follows the mother and baby as if there were 3 or 4 professionals working at the same time, without ceasing to accompany, to be present and connected. An exel.lent capacity for organisation.
When you have just worked with her, apart from being a great person, with a lot of empathy and intuition, you realise that Imma has skills, training and experience that are bombproof. Both emotionally and objectively, she is a brilliant professional. "

"From the moment I decided that I didn't want to give birth in any way and that the BIRTH of my daughter would be a special moment, I started to search, until I met Imma. She was the person who gave us the security and confidence we needed to find. We found in her a great PROFESSIONAL, serious, rigorous... and at the same time, a simple, kind, close and completely dedicated PERSON; the perfect combination to accompany the most important moment of our life; the birth of our daughter.
Everything was new and unknown to us, but with Imma's accompaniment it was very easy. Fears, doubts, uncertainties... gradually dissipated, and when the time came I felt completely safe and capable of giving birth without anyone intervening in the process, and with the certainty that needles, scissors and other tools and derivatives had no place. So we were able to give the welcome we wanted for our little girl. We welcomed her in the strictest INTIMACY and in a space full of CALM, TENDERNESS, LOVE, WARMTH AND RESPECT.
We only have words of gratitude for having given us your hand, for having listened to us and for having given us the necessary strength in all the moments we needed it. Thank you for having guided and accompanied us in the most magical moment of our lives. THANK YOU, IMMA!"

"From the moment I found out I was pregnant I imagined the birth of our child in only one way: intimate, relaxed, natural, in a cosy atmosphere, with very few people by my side and above all respected; that our decisions and actions would be respected at all times. And all this was possible thanks to Imma; a professional, close, humble, sincere person who loves her work and who exudes enormous love.
Our birth was even better than I imagined it would be, I felt very free and accompanied at all times. I had never been so present. I was aware of every minute and every second as I got closer to our baby; with his pain and his rest, with his cries and screams, with his music and dance, with his laughter. Most of all I was very aware of the moment when our baby came out of my womb and it was the most beautiful experience I have ever had.
Thank you very much Imma for making it possible, thank you for trusting me from the first day and for dedicating yourself body and soul to us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
We love you."

We felt her close at all times, her words of encouragement, the feeling that everything was progressing well, her warm hand at each contraction, the smell of herbs.... , her professionalism gave us a lot of security. "It has been a real pleasure and a good idea to meet Imma, even though it was in the final stages of pregnancy. Until then we had been seeing a gynaecologist who, rather than reassuring us, made us nervous and worried us with his inappropriate comments. Imma, on the other hand, explained things to us in a natural way and gave us a lot of peace of mind. She helped us a lot and we felt very safe at all times.
The day of the birth was longer and more complicated than we had initially expected, but even so, the professional and, above all, very human treatment gave us a lot of security and strength. At all times she kept us informed of the evolution of the process, she always asked my permission if she thought it was necessary to perform an examination and, when the time came, she told us that the situation had become complicated and that it was not safe to stay at home.
As soon as our daughter was born she came to see us at the hospital and helped us a lot with breastfeeding. Thanks to her advice and experience we have managed to have a great breastfeeding. Otherwise I don't know how it would have gone otherwise, as the hospital told us about breastfeeding on the second day of admission....
Her postpartum visits and calls have allowed us to be calmer and enjoy the moment more. We have asked her any questions we had and she has even called us to see how we were doing. Knowing that you have a knowledgeable person by your side and that you can reach her at any time is comforting.
Having hired their services has been the best decision we have made during our pregnancy and we will certainly repeat the experience later on.
Thank you so much for everything Imma!!!"

"Today the doubts and insecurities of pregnancy are in the past, but at that time Imma's support was the only thing that could comfort me.
The labour, the pain and finally the birth of my little son: Imma always knew what to say, what to do, how to help. Now we are very grateful for the dedicated and delicate accompaniment during this great adventure and we will always remember Imma with great affection.

"A few weeks ago we had one of the most fascinating experiences you can have: we became parents for the second time and we had the great fortune to be accompanied by a professional, respectful and totally dedicated woman. She is a woman who advocates home birth because, as she reminds us, giving birth is the culmination of an act of love that should be experienced naturally and without fear, with the safety of mother and baby taking precedence above all else.
..... After visiting several hospitals, clinics and gynaecologists I realised that nowadays, the only way to have a really natural and "respected" birth is to do it at home and that is how we met her. In addition to her, we saw other midwives, but from the very first interview, she transmitted to us rigour, dedication, complicity, professionalism, warmth and sensitivity. She accompanied us at all times, helped us to overcome doubts and fears, monitored and controlled us to confirm that everything was in order and that it was indeed possible to carry out a home birth. We always felt accompanied, with the peace of mind and security that she made us feel, and she did all this spontaneously and sincerely, not only because she has accompanied hundreds of families in this wonderful adventure, but also because she has also been a mother with natural and home births.
It also seems that she is not satisfied with just being an excellent midwife, but continues to train herself in practice, in theory and through the experience of her clients. She knows that to be the best it is not enough to deliver the most babies, but that it is also necessary to keep up to date with the latest research and to receive constant feedback from those who have given birth with her.
Nowadays, giving birth at home is practically a luxury, but giving birth with someone like Imma is also a fortune! I invite you to meet her and listen to her, and if you are able to give birth at home, you will undoubtedly feel just as supported and fortunate as those of us who have met Imma. If you want more information, you can contact us, she has our contact details".

"After two poorly respected births (a caesarean section without medical indication and then a totally medicalised vaginal birth) I wanted to give my third, and probably last, baby a special arrival, which would reconcile us as a family with the naturalness of birth. For that special moment I chose Imma and from the beginning I felt I had got it right: loving and available, she reassured me every step of the way in my conviction that I could give birth, every time my daughter put herself in strange positions or every time I had to listen to interventionist comments at the SS.
And so it was: Imma accompanied our birth by being present when I needed her and "disappearing" when I wanted to be alone, respecting and anticipating my needs and wishes, without neglecting safety and professionalism. Imma encouraged my eldest daughter to witness the birth of her little sister, for which I am very grateful, because perhaps she has discovered her vocation and because, in any case, my 8 year old daughter has learned that giving birth is something natural and normal for a woman.
After the birth, she continued to accompany us in the beginning of breastfeeding, which was not easy.
Imma's warmth and professionalism were crucial for my husband to accept the idea, and then the reality, of home birth. Now he has understood why I needed that kind of birth and the huge difference between being at home and going to hospital, I think he has "converted" to home birth!
I thank Imma for all this, for her unsurpassed "know-how", and I am sure that knowing that she was always available and supportive made my birth easier, because I myself learned to believe that it could be, no matter what anyone else said.
Thank you for helping me to trust myself and my baby!

"Irene's first night she could barely stand the pain. All I had to do was ask for more painkillers. They asked me if I wanted them to take my daughter away so I could rest. I was so devastated that I agreed.
The first night, Laura had minutes to live and I had hours of insomnia. During labour I just wanted it to be over and to be able to sleep. That night I didn't sleep a wink, happiness (and hormones) made the tiredness disappear.
One was the worst day of my life, the other the best. The first was an unnecessary caesarean section, in a cold operating theatre alone; the other, a home birth with my loved one. I owe the difference to Imma.
Imma was respectful and attentive from the first interview at her home. She encouraged me during the pregnancy and answered my questions. And she was with me throughout the whole process, either on the phone or at home. Imma accompanied me from the first visit until postpartum. "

"...It seems incredible how the doubts, insecurities, fears that I had had months ago during the pregnancy hearings were disappearing completely as the time came.... I remembered our meetings with Imma, our telephone conversations and her words helped me, making anything that could interfere with a good labour disappear. And little by little I was growing as a woman, as a mother, as a mammal ....
...the moment was coming and there was Inma with her gaze, her delicate gestures, her security and confidence, transmitting me all the necessary strength to fulfil my desire...
...It is very difficult to put words to a wish fulfilled as you had dreamed it could be, it's incredible....
....Aroa was born just as we wanted, accompanied by her family, her mum, dad and sister, the company of Ingrid and a great professional, Imma, who has been and will be much more than just the midwife.
When Aroa was born I remember that Imma told me "Take your daughter" and there I was feeling like the greatest woman in the world... the giant Judit... welcoming not only my daughter but also very strong experiences and emotions that were happening and that were to come, in which Imma has been present, giving us her support, accompanying us at every moment, without rushing, with respect, empathy and above all with a lot of Love ....
Thank you very much for everything, we will never forget it....".

"India was born on the 13th of June. For us, her arrival was a moment that we wanted to live intensely from the beginning, in the most intimate way possible. We were reading, informing ourselves and looking for the place (birthing homes) or the person (midwife) best suited to accompany us on this journey. From the moment we met Imma we knew that she was without a doubt the person with whom we were going to share our birth.
For me it was very important to give birth with someone who gave me confidence, not only professionally, but someone with sensitivity, affection, passion and absolute respect for us.
Three months have passed and I still can't explain how important her presence was for me before, during and especially after the birth, always attentive to my emotions and our needs. For me she was a very important support during the whole postpartum and breastfeeding period. As we have read in other testimonies, Imma suddenly became a friend, sister, mother and eternal companion.
We still think and feel that in some way it will always be part of our little family.
Now that I am a mother and have given birth true to my wishes, I find it essential for every woman to have a midwife by her side who offers confidence, reassurance, love, empathy and care throughout the whole process.
Thanks for everything Imma..."

"Ever since I became pregnant I thought about what I wanted my birth to be like... I always had the same image... calm, peace, trust, intimacy and tranquillity....
...Receiving your support since we decided that you would accompany us was incredible, the confidence that you gave us, your sincere, professional, human, clear words... your company in the most difficult moment for me and above all knowing that you would be with us until the end, gave me so much confidence that I am sure that it made me go into labour...
The moment I had Tomás in my arms, after a few hours of caring for him and telling him that I wanted to see him, I realised that I had not looked for any other midwife because my heart told me that it was you and that the image that I visualised so much when I thought about our birth...was really our birth!!!!
It would not be fair to take credit for our birth to Tomás, David, Martina and myself, but in the same way it would not be fair not to acknowledge your support, your firm presence, your clear, real, sincere words, your patient smile, your simplicity, your work SO PROFESSIONAL and above all YOUR GREAT HEART AS A MOTHER AND A WOMAN.... you are incredible... and I WILL NEVER GET TIRED OF THANKING YOU FOR HAVING ACCOMPANIED US IN THIS WONDERFUL LIFE EXPERIENCE. WE LOVE YOU AND WISH THAT MANY FAMILIES HAVE YOUR ACCOMPANIMENT!!!!"

"Both the visits at your home and at our home were very cordial, professional, very sincere and friendly. The talks a few days before the birth increased my confidence. The professionalism and simplicity on the day of the birth will make me remember that moment for a long time, seen from my small collaboration, as a unique, unforgettable and, although it may not seem so, difficult to explain.
Your stay with us is for me like a trip full of good memories. Thank you Imma".

"Thanks to Imma we have felt very confident to bring our son into the world as we wanted. She has been very attentive and loving, whenever we have needed her or had doubts she has been there.
Marc's birth has been a very beautiful and intense experience. I don't think we could have ever imagined that a birth could be so beautiful and so natural, if it wasn't for people like you, it wouldn't be possible.
I hope we will meet again one day if we decide to go for the third one, a big kiss from all of us!

"Every time I remember how I gave birth to my daughter, pleasurable sensations flood my heart, mind and body. My face lights up and I feel a happiness that I have only felt when my second child was born. With this birth I have discovered another person inside me and I would not change anything about how it happened because I know that there was no manipulation in the process and that things happened in the order they had to be and if there were many hours of contractions it is because we needed it. I feel that my midwife, Imma, performed the functions of as many people as are necessary in those moments: she was my sister, my mother, my friend, and at the same time she carried out her work with amazing professionalism, so that I felt free and controlled at all times. I am sure that it is possible to have a similar experience in a hospital; you just need to recognise the need for it, respect the rights of mothers and their babies and be willing to do it. I feel privileged to have discovered another way of giving birth and giving birth despite the reasons why. During the time that Imma stayed by my side, I have received the best care that an expectant mother could wish for and need. In our house the doors will always be open to her; we have so much to thank her for that paying her for her services is simply not enough. We are thankful that there are still professionals with a vocation who are constantly training".

"A million thank yous...still wouldn't be enough...I'm not usually at a loss for words, Imma, but I don't know where to start. I am so grateful that I found you, that you believed in me, that Eesha had someone so loving and encouraging to help her find her way into this world, and that you were by my side during the darkest days I have ever faced. You have been more than a midwife to me and I consider your presence during my daughter's birth, and even more so, in my life, truly a blessing. Thank you."

"Meeting Imma and her being able to accompany us during the birth of our daughter Ona was a gift for us. She gave us confidence from the beginning, a lot of security and peace of mind, both in the preparation, birth and postpartum. Thank you, Imma, for your respectful and professional manner and for your ability to understand our needs at all times, both physical and emotional. We feel that your presence was key for us to experience the birth of our daughter intensely, of which we have fond memories. Thank you Imma for taking care of us at all times with so much love and respect, with all your details. We feel that we still have you very present and that we will always have you in a little corner of our heart. Thank you very much for everything".

"Having Imma as a midwife has been a gift of life. She is a great professional, always attentive and willing to answer my questions. The pre-birth visits gave me confidence. During the birth, she had the gift of telling me the right words to help me in the process and to have the resources to make the birth of my son easier. I was able to give birth to my son as I had dreamed and in the company of my family, feeling cared for and respected. Living this moment with her makes her become a little piece of our family".

"Imma is a respectful, straightforward, honest professional with a sense of humour. She shows love and a total understanding of the transformation that takes place during childbirth and motherhood.
Working with Imma I felt safe and really cared for. This allowed me to give my best without worries or concerns.
Every woman deserves to have a midwife like Imma by her side".

"When I had Imma by my side I relaxed completely. Her discreet but continuous presence, her hands that she always knew where to place to ease the intensity of the contraction, her respect in measuring my vital signs and listening to the little one, intuition...how many times she anticipated what I was thinking, saving me from having to talk...allowing me to concentrate, to feel the contractions and my little girl going down inside me. She was the best help and companion I could have.
The subsequent treatments were carried out in an unhurried, gentle manner, and he did not leave until he was sure that we were both perfect.
Subsequent visits have been of great help, in the face of the difficulties we have had we have always found a quick response and support in every way.
It has been a magical and very intense experience that Imma's presence has allowed me to enjoy calmly and confidently".
